HARMONY SCHOOL
Will Get Underway 25th
With Primary Grades
Program
The Harmony high school com
mencement will begin April 25 with
a program by the primary grades.
On the evening of April 26, a pro
' gram will be presented by the gram
mar grades. Each exercise will be
gin at 8 o'clock in the evening.
The commencement proper will
begin May 10th, with a music re
cital at 8 o'clock by the pupils of
Miss Bell. Sunday, May 12, the
commencement sermon will be de
* livered at 3 o'clock in the afternoon.
Monday evening, May 13, the senior
class exercises will be held and
Tuesday, from 5:30 to 9:30 p.
will feature the alumni homecoming.
An all-day program is scheduled
for the final day on Wednesday with
the commencement address by State
Supt. Clyde A. Ervin at 11 o'clock;
a ball game at 2:30 in the afternoon
and the class play "The Unexpected
Debut" at 8 o'clock in the evening.

Relatives of R. A. Jenkins, of Win
ston-Salem, were called to his bed
side last week on account of his
serious illness. Latest reports are
that his condition is much improved.

Kiwanians to Meet
With Mt. Airy Club
The meeting of the Elkin Kiwan
is club, held Friday night at Hotel
Elkin, was turned into an open ses
sion following dinner in which var
ious civic projects were discussed.
Coach Bunn Hearn, of the Caro
lina baseball team, and the mana
ger of the team were both present
as guests of the club, and each, In
a short talk, expressed their appre
ciation for the warm welcome and
courtesies which had been extended
the boys here.
