A special meeting of mem bers of the church is called Saturday afternoon, January 18, 1936, at two o'clock, by the pastor, Rev. L. B. Murray. I. C. Woodruff returned to his home at Mountain View Sunday fol lowing a visit of a week with friends here. He was accompanied by Theo dore Chappell. Miss Edna Jenkins is spending a week in Winston-Salem, the guest of her brother, Virgil Jenkins. Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Evans, of Shady Grove community, were the Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. John Carter. Ola Jean Cockerham, of Elkin, spent the week-end here with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Layne. Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Greenwood spent Friday in Mount Airy. G. P. Gaither, of Winston-Salem, was a business visitor here Tuesday. T. M. Sneed returned to Winston- Salem the early part of the week, following a visit to his parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. G. Sneed. Paul Jenkins returned Saturday from Roanoke, Va., where he spent some time attending to business mat ters. Rev. Lester Johnson, of Mountain View, spent a few days here last week, attending the revival. "Joe Smith," replied the widow. "You'll have to give me some bet ter identification than that," said St. Peter kindlyl. "How about his last words? We classify new arrivals by their last words on earth." "Well," she replied, "just before he died Joe turned to me and said, 'Mary, if you ever kiss another mfen I'll turn over in my grave'."
