Master Delos Martin was able to return to his home from Davis hospital after undergoing a head treatment for several days. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Martin and children and Miss Willie Bell Osborne motored to Salisbury and various other places of interest on Sunday. Mrs. Bill Kiker and children, Billy and Linda, returned to Asheville Sunday after spending some time with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. I. Y. Jester. She went by way of Atlanta, Ga„ to visit with relatives there. Mr. and Mrs. Lester Holloway and son. Bobby, of Elkin Valley, were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Lyons on Sunday. The friends of Miss Charity Weatherman are glad to see her out since a recent illness. Miss Ed wine Ray was able to return to her home from City Memorial hospital in Winston- Salem after undergoing an ap pendicitis operation there \on March 2. Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Davis and children spent Sunday at Yad kinvtlle, the guests of Ar. Davis' parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. R. Da vis. Junior Girls Auxiliary Meets on Wednesday Afternoon The Junior G. A-'s met on Wednesday afternoon, March 8, at 3:30 at the church, with 19 members present. The devotional was taken from Numbers 15:37-41, and was given by the counselor, Mrs. G. S. Wag oner. The Star Ideals were stressed and drilled on during this meet ing. The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 22. at 3:30 o'clock, at the church. P.-T. A Meets Thursday Evening The P.-T. A. met Thursday ev ening, March 9, for their month ly meeting. Rev. Creech, pastor of the Holiness church, conduct ed the devotional. Professor L. S. U. of the Baptist church met Tuesday evening at the home of Mrs. J. D. Eller, with fifteen members present. Two new members were enrolled. Mrs. J. L. Brandon conducted the devotionals and the program was in charge of Mrs. G. S. Wag oner, assisted by Mesdames D. G. Reece, F. A. Lineberry and C. L. Davis. Mrs. G. S. Wagoner, a member of the group, who is moving this week to Hamptonville to make her home, was given a lovely gift of linens from the circle. Quite Tree The professor had been lectur ing the class on poisons, and af ter discussing various deadly sub stances, he asked the class to name a few more. At once one student put up his hand. "Well?" said the professor. "Aviation, sir." The professor stared. "Come, come!" he exclaimed. "This is no time for hilarity. What did you mean?" Wright entertained the Happy Hour Sewing Club on Tuesday afternoon, with nine members present. Several busi ness matters were taken up with the president, Mrs. Miles Shore, in charge.
