News of Jonesville Miss Virginia Uneberry. Editor Phone 44-M Mrs. Marvin Mayberry and daughter, Nancy Ann, spent Sun day with Mrs. Will Hudspeth of North Elkin. Messrs. Pinkey Darnell and Clark Owen of Pulaski, Virginia, were the week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. John Mayberry. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Chappell and daughter, Dorothea, Mr. and Mrs. Wilmoth Swalm and Mrs. George Chatham and daughter, Peggy, spent Sunday in Charlotte. Mrs. Tom Osborne is spending this week in Ashevllie, the guest of Miss Grace Triplett. The Arlington Baptist church made a unanimous call Sunday night for Rev. Isom Vestal, as pastor of their chinch. Mr. and Mrs. Reeoe Gough spent the week-end in Ashevllie, visiting relatives and friends. Master Grady Felts of Winston- Salem, is the guest of Master Delos Martin this week. Messrs. Clee Leister, Curtis Hall, Ed Atkins and J. T. Pardue spent Saturday In Winston-Salem. Messrs. Henry Smith of Wilkes boro, and Stanford Brown of Boone, were Sunday guests of friends here. Misses Virginia Lineberry and Agnes Pardue and Messrs. John ny Sprinkle and Wendell Stanley motored to Sparta and other places of interest Sunday. Mrs. Arthur Martin is listed among the sick this week. Mrs. Parks Hampton, Miss Vir ginia Lee Bryant and Paul Shaw spent Thursday in Winston-Sa lem. Ivory Johnson Is Honored On Birthday Mrs. Ivory Johnson entertained in honor of her husband, on his twenty-fourth birthday, with a delightful party, at their home Friday evening. A colorful scheme of green, white and yellow was carried out. During the evening Chinese checkers and various other games were played. The .honoree was presented a lovely gift and Mrs. Waymouth Vestal, a recent bride elect, was presented linen. Ruth Settle; vice-president, Mrs. E. S. Couch; secretary, Mrs. Rob ert Wilmoth; assistant secretary, Mrs. Johnny Francis; treasurer, Mrs. Branham Day. The George Couch Bible Class held its meeting Sunday after noon with the president. Walter Couch, in charge. Clyde Couch was elected class reporter. It was decided that meetings would be held the second Sunday after noon beginning to May. Rev. D. W. Day spoke to the 32 members present. We regret to report that the condition of Mr. Curtis Couch's foot has become so serious that it required hospital attention. He hurt his foot several weeks ago while at work. Mr. C. H. Day and Mr. Bran ham Day visited Mrs. Lily Bur cham, of Benham, who is serious ly ill. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Wilmoth, of Danville, Va.. visited Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wilmoth, last week end. Mrs. Ellen Gilliam and Mr. Dallas Gilliam attended services at New Hope church Sunday. A birthday party was given Monday afternoon by Mrs. C. W.
