ISTOSPEAK AT EAST BEND Dr. Pegg Will Talk on Con trol, Treatment and Ef fects of Syphillis IS TO SHOW PICTURE On Friday night, June 16, Dr. Pegg, of the 4-County Health De partment, will speak at East Bend on the control, treatment, and ef fects of syphillis. This lecture is a continuation of several such talks made by Dr. Pegg through out the four counties of Forsyth, Stokes, Yadkin and Davie, and is a furtherance of the drive being put on by the state of North Carolina and the entire nation for the control of this scourge to the human race. The lecture will be held in the East Bend school building. Dr. Pegg's talk will consist of a practical discussion of the ways in which the disease may be spread. The discussion will be an open one in which the lecturer will give the audience opportunity to ask questions as to the dangers, effects, control, and treatment of the disease. No child under 12 years of age will be admitted to the lecture. In connection with the pro gram a vitaphone picture will show the different phases of the disease, and also many other in teresting facts pertaining to its spread, effects, ,and control. In addition to the picture there will be two others, "Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse," shown for entertainment. This same lecture-picture pro gram has met with great success wherever it has been shown. In Stokes county the Woman's Club sponsored the program; also in Yadkinville the Woman's Club sponsored it. Mrs. Jamie Leake Messick, one THE BLKIN TRIBUNE. ELKIN. It was also announced by Mrs. Messick that she will hold a clinic at Dobbins school house three miles west of Boonville at 2 pjn. Thursday for typhoid vaccina tion. One case of typhoid has been reported in this section and it came from a family none of whom had been vaccinated in re cent years for the disease. This clinic is for the people in this im mediate community. If there are others who wish to have the vac cination, although it is an off year for typhoid vaccinations, they may receive it by going to Mrs. Messick's office at Boonville any Monday morning, or to Miss Niblock's office at Yadkinville any Monday afternoon, from 1 to 4.
