C., is improving, his many friends will be glad to know. Oneil and Leonard Lineberry are spending this week with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. T. L. Lineberry, of near Boonville. Mr. Stanford Brown, of Boone, spent the week-end here with friends. Miss Gertrude Groce, of Win ston-Salem, is spending this week here with friends and Relatives. Messrs. Jimmy Smith and Roy Richardson, of Winston-Salem, spent the week-end here with friends. Mr. J. E. Hoover and Mr. George Fox spent the week-end at their homes in Hickory. Miss Jean Sullins, of Elkin, is spending a few days this week with Cornelia and Jean Lineber ry. Miss Virginia Anthony, of Hamptonville, spent the week end with Miss Lorene Osborne. Mr. and Mrs. Tat Davis and children, Johnny and Abby Car olyn, spent Sunday with the former's parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. R. Davis, of Yadkinville. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Brandon and children, of Chapel Hill, left Wednesday after spending a few days here with friends and rela tives. Miss Rachel Brown, of Bur lington, left Monday for her home after spending the past week here with Mr. and Mrs. Tat Davis. The Sunbeams met Monday evening at the church with their leader, Mrs. Jack Brown, for their regular meeting. Miss Alda Sue Hemric, of Statesville, spent Tuesday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Hemric. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Gough spent Sunday in Yadkinville the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Luke Kiger. Mrs. Montgomery Casstevens had as her guests Sunday her brother and wife. Mr. and Mrs. Bonnie Starks, of Winston-Sa lem. Miss Beatrice Casstevens and Bill Casstevens, of Traphill, are the guests of Miss Georgie Ves tal and Russell Vestal this week. Mrs. F. A. Lineberry and chil dren visited in the home of Mr. and Mrs. T. L. Lineberry Sunday afternoon. Mrs. P. H. Underwood is spend ing this week with her brother, Mr. John Mock, of Boonville, who is seriously ill. Mr. James Martin and mem bers of his Sunday school class spent the day at Hollywood Lake Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Z. B. Martin and family spent Sunday in Winston- Salem, the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Otis Felts and family. The many friends of Mrs. C. L. Kerley regret to learn that her condition is not improving. Primary Class Enjoys Picnic Sunday Evening Mrs. Will Holcomb took her primary Sunday school class on a picnic to Boss' Creek Tuesday afternoon. Everyone took a picnic lunch and went in swimming. After a nice swim, games were played and afterwards a water melon feast was enjoyed by all. Several visitors were present. PAUL A large crowd attended the home coming service at St. Paul Sunday. Rev. Bumgarner deliv ered an inspiring sermon. Din ner was served on the grounds at noon. Mrs. Dwight Walker and chil dren, with her mother, spent last Sunday the guests of their sister and daughter, Mrs. Jasper Chip man, near Union Grove. Walter Wellborn and a party of friends are spending several days at the beach. Miss DeEtte Swaim, of Jones ville, visited her sisters, Mes dames Clay Macey and Omar Walker, Tuesday. Farmers in this section are busy priming tobacco. They re port a good crop. Mr. and Mrs. John A. Thom asson and little daughter, of Charlotte, spent the week-end here with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. Thomasson. Mr. and Mrs. Herman Cash, of Yadkinville, visited the latter's sister, Mrs. Reubin Allred, Sun day. FALL CREEK Saturday, August 5, has been set aside for cleaning the ceme tery at Fall Creek church. Every one having relatives and friends buried in this cemetery is re quested to attend and aid in this work as the cemetery is badly in need of care. Avery Newman was able to re turn to work Monday, following an illness of two weeks. Friends of Miss Leora Bray will be glad to know that she is re covering nicely from an appendi citis operation.
