Hie latter returned with her Saturday night and was the week-end guest of Miss Virginia Lineberry. Mr. Ernest Pruitt spent the week-end in Winston-Salem vis iting friends. Mr. Stanford Brown, of Boone, spent the week-end in Winston- Salem visiting friends. Miss Martha Sprinkle, of Dob son. spent the latter part of last week here with her sister, Mrs. Roy Hampton. Mrs. Norman Porter and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Paris, the latter of Brooks Cross Roads, spent the week-end in Edenton the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Thompson Greenwood. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hampton and daughter, Sarah Frances, spent the week-end near Dobson with relatives. Misses Erlene, Evelyn and Ruth Mayberry spent the week-end in Yadkinville, the guests of Mr. and Mrs. John D. Wallace. Misses Kathryn Whitener and Ann Lineback spent the week end in Winston-Salem with their parents, Mrs. L. C. Whitener and Mrs. C. E. Lineback. Mrs. D. G. Reece, Mrs. Willie Brown, Mrs. Jack Brown and children, Phyllis and Jacqueline, visited Mrs. Emma Reece in Boonville Sunday afternoon. Miss Imogene Wilson, of Boon ville, is spending a few days this week here, the guest of Misses Sarah Lou Reece and Jacqueline Brown. Messrs. John Lippard and Clyde Dagenhart spent the week end in Statesville with their families. Mr. and Mrs. Grady Phillips and son, Benny, and Mrs. John Mock, of Boonville, visited in the home of Mrs. P. H. Underwood here Sunday. Mr. Russell Smith entered Hugh Chatham Memorial hospi tal Friday and underwent a minor operation. Mr. and Mrs. M. H. Helton had as their week-end guests, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Helton and daughter, Melinda. of Asheville. Misses Gerry ' Ann and Shirley Ann Helton, who spent last week here with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. M. H. Helton, re turned with their parents to Asheville Monday. Mr. Bonny Brown, of Greens boro, spent the week-end here with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Brown, recently. Alda Grayson Y. W. A. Meets Tuesday Evening The Alda Grayson Y. W. A. of the Baptist church met Tuesday evening at the church for its regular meeting, with three mem bers present. Miss Virginia Lineberry presi dent, presided over the business period and plans were made to attend the Associational meeting which will be held at Deep Creek Friday. Miss Lineberry was also in charge of the devotionals. Miss Evelyn Arnold presented a most interesting program on "Mothers." She closed the pro gram by reading a poem entitled, "My Mother." Miss Bertha Adams, leader, led the prayer of dismissal. Jacqueline Brown Honors Miss Wilson Tuesday Little Jacqueline Brown hon ored her guest. Miss Emma Gene Wilson, Tuesday with a de lightful luncheon at her home on Cherry street. Yellow flowers and roses were used for the table decorations and were repeated all through the house, carrying out the color scheme. Covers were placed for seven: Misses Emma Gene Wilson, of Boonville, honoree, Patricia Boles, Geraldine Boles, Sarah Lou Reece, Bonnie Jane Hall, Phyllis Brown, and the hostess, Jacqueline Brown. Seniors Are Feted at Farewell Party Misses Edwina Hemric, Nonnie Burcham. Opal Ingool, Grace Myers and Ruth Brown were joint hostesses in entertaining the members of the senior class and others at a farewell party on Thursday evening. May 9, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Burgess. During the evening many in teresting games and contests were enjoyed with the prize be ing awarded to Mrs. A. B. Scroggs. A souvenir was present ed to each member of the senior class and a gift presented to the special guests, Mr. and Mrs. Stacey Weaver and Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Scroggs. At the close of the fun period the delicious refreshments were served to the following: Misses Sally Reece, Mozelle Kimmer, Sally Mae Myers, Mr. and Mrs. Stacey Weaver and son, Walter, Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Scroggs and son, B. Pratt, Mrs. Walter Bur gess and daughter, Gerry; Messrs. Eugene Martin, Turman Reece, James Mathis, Tommy Reece, Howard Macemore. Wayne Byrd, Reece Shugart, and the hostesses. Chappell and Frances Pardue entertained a number of friends with a weiner roast at Groce's Spring on Fri day evening of last week. During the evening many in teresting games were played and those eh joying the roast were: Misses Magdalene Price, Vivian Pardue, Helen Goforth, Evelyn Smitherman, Virginia Lee Hol comb, Dot smitherman, Reba Cheeks, Miss Royall, and Messrs. Sam Royall, Junior Anthony, John Donaldson, Tom Collins, Bob Cockerham, Ralph Nelson, "Sleepy" Boles, James Davis, Granville Qamblll, Qarvey Sim mons, Odell Miller, Junior Del fibaugh, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Branon, who served as chap erones, and the hostesses, Misses Chappell and Pardue. ZEPHYR Several from here attended the funeral at Salem, Va., of Mr. A. p. Kinzie, agriculture teacher at Mountain Park high school, Sun day. Misses Minnie and Ua Bowers have returned home after spend ing several days in Kannapolis with their sister, Mrs. Grady White. Mr. and Mrs. I. M. Reeves and of Martinsville, Va., Mrs. Ruby Brendle and family, of Zephyr, were the Sunday guests of Mrs. Ellen Laster and family. Mrs. Ettye Parks made a busi ness trip to Winston-Salem Tues day.
