Mrs. Tuttle and five Forsyth 4-H Club leaders participated in the all-day school conducted by Miss Mamie Whisnant, assistant specialist in house furnishings and home management, for lead ers from the counties of Davie, Yadkin, Surry, Stokes, Wilkes and Forsyth. Preliminaries in any room-im provement project, Miss Whis nant declared, include an inven tory and study of floor plans and aims, detail planning and the se curing of approval from the mother, the club leader and the home agent. Actual improvement should start with work on storage space and backgrounds—floor and wall finishes. Then comes work on the individual units—sleeping, wash, study and dressing units. After the accessories of curtains, chairs, rugs, screens, etc., have been planned, the arrangement of each individual room should be effect ed. It was pointed out that the study was especially beneficial to the Forsyth leaders since room improvement is to be the major project for this county's 4-H club girls during the next two years. Among those attending from Surry county were: Mrs. Grace Pope Brown, home demonstration agent, Hazel T.
