Burch of Rusk at tended the funeral of her brother, Myron H. Davis, at Fayetvllle Tuesday. Mr. Davis was killed in an automobile accident Sunday near Fayetville. Mr. and Mrs. R. N. Ricta and two sons, Allen and Robert, of Selma, Ala., were the guests of Dr. and Mrs. C. E. Nicks over the week-end. They were en route to New York and Washington. Miss Sarah Click is expected to return the latter part of the week from Palisades Park on Lake Michigan, near Chicago, where she has been attending a house party at the home of Dr. and Mrs. A. L. Dixon and daughter, Miss Alice Dixon, and Mrs. M. A. Royall plan to attend the session Friday. Mr. and Mrs L. F. Walker and daughters and son, Kay Lee, Dorothy Mae and Frank, are ex pected to return today from a va cation trip through the mountains of Western North Carolina, in cluding the Cherokee Indian Res ervation, AAheville, Mars Hill, and other places. The friends of Everette Mathis of Arlington, will be glad to know that he is recovering nicely from a major operation at the local hospital. Morrison left Tues day for Wrightsville Beach to at tend the state convention of North Carolina florists, and a school in floral designing to be conducted with the convention. She will re turn Friday. Mrs. J. P. I pock and children, Anne and John, and Virginia Graham, are spending sometime on a vacation trip to White Lake. They will return via .Carolina Beach, where they will stay for several days. Guernse Breeders To Hold Meet At Klondike The North Carolina Guernsey Breeders Association will hold its annual summer field day Wed nesday, August 14, at Klondike Farm, near here. A very interesting program, scheduled to begin at 10:30 ajn., has been planned, and a large number of Guernsey breeders from all parts of the state are expected to bp present. A. W. Pelfer, of the American Guernsey Cattle Club, of Peter borough, N. H., will be the princi pal speaker. Thurmond Chat ham, owner of Klondike Farm, will make the address of welcome. A feature of the meeting will be the showing of the Klondike herd.
