DUNCAN IS RETURNED HERE (Continued from Page One) three years as presiding elder of the old Mount Airy District of the Methodist church, which at that time included the local church, and is not a stranger to Elkin. Rev. and Mrs. Qibbs will come here soon to make their home. They have three daugh ters and one son, all of whom are away in college, with the excep tion of the youngest daughter, who is a senior in high school. It is with regret that the peo ple of Elkin see Rev. and Mrs. Hiatt and their family go. They have been valuable additions to the town during their residence here. Rev. Hiatt has also made a splendid showing in the dis trict during the year, 19 churches in the district having been paired and painted and four new churches having been built.'Seven parsonages have been repaired during the year and in the dis trict 523 new members have been received into the various churches. Rev. Dwight B. Mullis, who has capably served as pastor of the Jonesville charge tor the past two years, was returned for another year. The Jonesville charge in cludes the churches at Jonesville, Ronda, Grassy Creek, Longtown and Maple Springs. Rev. J. W. Parker will succeed I Rev. R. O. McClamrock on the Dob so n charge, which includes the churches at Dobson, Rockford, Pleasant ■ Ridge, Siloam and Stony Knoll. Rev. L. B. Abernethy, of this city, was reelected as Mission Secretary to the Conference and Director of the Golden Cross.
