JONESVILLE By Mrs. Leslie Batte Phone 98-R L . --- Rev. E. M. Eldridge held a com munion and baptismal service at New Hope Baptist Church on Sun day, after one week's revival ser vice there. On Thursday, Rev. and Mrs. Eldridge left for a visit of two weeks in the Smoky Moun tains. J. W. Craft spent Saturday in Lewisville with his father, G. B. Craft. Mr. and Mrs. James Pardue, Mr. and Mrs. Free Pardue and daugh ters, Miss Betty Pardue and Mrs. Kermit Mackie, spent the week end at Myrtle Beach, S. C. Mrs. Clyde Minish spent Thurs day in Sparta as the guest of Mrs. Charlie Casstevens. Others accom-' panying her on the trip were: W. C. Woodruff, Mr. and Mrs. Dave Woodruff and Miss Betty Ann Minish. Mrs. Helen Eldridge and sons, Dan and Lawrence, left Monday for their home at Seaboard, after spending three weeks in the home of Rev. and Mrs. E. M. Eldridge. Rev. C. M. Mrs. Will Felts of Hamptonville was the week-end guest of Mrs. Zada Payne. Mr. and Mrs. James Carter and children, Dixie, Roger and Dale of Miller, S. D., are visiting their daughter, Mrs. E. I* Harris. Jack Rose, Milton Haynes, Bob Vestal and Tom Hanes vacationed at Myrtle Beach, S. C., during the week-end. Miss Shirley Hicks' of Brooks Cross Roads was the week-end visitor of Mrs. C. J. Holcomb. Mr. and Mrs. R. G. Boles and grandson, Jimmy Pardue, Mrs. W. V. Minick and IVJrs. J. E. Boles spent Sunday in Wytheville, Va. Mr. and Mrs. E. T. Spence and the latter’s sister, Mrs. Florence Blevins of Louisana who is visit ing with her for the Summer, were the guests of relatives and friends in Raleigh last week. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Helms and B. C. Trexler of Salisbury and Miss Mary Ellen Minick spent the week-end at Carolina Beach. Mrs. Dumont Eskridge and chil dren, Sarah Anne, Judy, and Joe of Hillsboro arrived Tuesday to spend a few days with Mrs. Esk ridge’s mother, Mrs. Mabel Thompson. Mrs. Horace Feimster of Win ston-Salem spent the week-end with her mother, Mrs. W. F. Reece. Mr. and Mrs. G. B. Craft of Lewisville were the visitors of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Craft on Wednes day of last week. Mrs. D. A. Small was the guest of Mrs. Mary Ann Johnson and her brother, Matthew Prevette, near North Wilkesboro last week. Mark Reece of Greensboro spent the week-end with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Reece. Miss Shirley Parker of Burlington was also a guest in the Reece home. Rev. Clifford Vestal is conduct ing a revival at Union Arbor near Union Grove. Services each eve ning at 8 p. m. through August 20. At the Sunday morning 11 o’clock worship service, a group from Pilot Mountain will sing at the Mineral Springs B a p t is t Church. Mother of Elkin Man Dies In Minnesota \ Mrs. Archie B. Moore of St. Paul, Minn., mother of George A. B. Moore of this city, died Mon day, following a long illness. In addition to Mr. Moore, Mrs. Moore is survived by her husband and one daughter, Mrs. Kenneth R. McCoy of St. Paul, Minn. Mr. Moore had just returned home from a visit with his parents. Funeral service was held Tues day. Young’ People’s Meet Held In Jonesville A Young People’s meeting was held last night (Wednesday) at Mineral Springs Baptist Church in Jonesville. The pastor. Rev. Clif ford Vestal, brought the message. The meeting, cohvening at 7:45 o’clock, was the first in a series of two meetings especially for the young people. The next will be held on Wednesday evening, Aug ust 24, and all young people are cordially invited to attend.
