Editor Reflector;— > It looks like the Mexican problem Just a few lines to let you know, can be solved by God only. We 1 am still alive. 1 left California’should try to give those people Chris- two weeks ago direct for Mexico City via Juarez and after getting into the republic could not reach the City on account of trouble arising between \’illa and Carranza. So I have re turned here to await developments. When 1 entered Mexico everything I-ointed to peace and at least a set- 3 lenient between the different faction for a while anyway but all of a sud den a dark cloud rolled over which threatens the country with another slaughtering spell and why? “Nothing more than personal ambition.” Mexican money here flucturatss worse than a stock market, we hav.» Carranza money worth about 15 on th.> dollar, and Villa money worth 18 cents and old government money, the bills tacked by the banks, about the same as Villa money. Sliver and gold are all held by the banks for their pro tection and none is in circulation. The value of bank notes varies ac cording to the condition of the bank. There has bpen lots of counterfit money in circuhition here but since a recent law passed in Texas against ihis the same has been done away with. In Mexico any one caught handling counterfit money is executed The decrease in value of Mexican money, including Villa and Carranza money of which there is no way to .estimate just how mucli, is in cir culation, makes it bad enough. The jirotection of the Federal Government would have saved the money market, nr. at least enabled the banks to pull rhrough, but now it will be a long time before the money matters can be ad.iusted. Wliy are money matters as they are? Tliis with many other ques- i;ons is in the minds of many Ameri can people that have not yet been in telligently answered to their satis- f,(ction will sooner or later be taken up by the press and made clear to all Those placed in similar circumst ances as myself do not have the sup port of the American people to put our views before the people but the time is coming. My contention all the way through is take American politics out of Mexi- <-o and the greatest problem there will, be solved. Do away with the oil in-1 terests in the country owned by fore- t'anity and educate them instead I'f backing some leader with shot and shells to kill each other I certainly hope our good Americau p( ople Vill take their politics out of Mexico, the American captalist will be satisfied to allow the Mexican peo ple to own their own country and run the same according to their own views I have sacrificed and lost nearly all I had in Mexico so has many another good American and I don’t know whether one should wholly blame the Alexican peple for it or not. Very sincerely, H. 13, TniPP A Itoautiful ('liuroli >Veddiug'. Fannville, Oct. 2—On October 1st at 8 o'clock in the morning a beauti ful wedding occurred at the Christian Church. The bride Miss Mary Moya being the lovely aiid accomplished daughter of Mr. A. J. Moye of Parm- ville, N. C., and the groom Mr George A. Patterson, of Liberty, N. C. The church was tastefully decor ated with Golden rods and ferns. Just before the ceremony the members of the "Girls Country Club” (of whicii the bride was a member) entered In a body. Mrs. .John T. 'i'horne sang 'n a most charming manner “I Ix)ve Thee.” As the sturins of Mendlsshon’s Wedding March rendered by Mrs J. Stanley Smith, the wedding party entered as follows. Mr. Georga Smith of Liberty, X. C. with Mr. Clay Andrews of Kinston. Mr Clifton Moye brother of the bride with Mr. J. Stanley Smith, both of Parm- ville. Mrs. Clay Andrews, of Kin ston, N. ('., Dame of Honor, gowned in lavender crepe carrying LaFrance roses, Miss Henrietta Moye maid of honor sister of the bride wearing white crepe de chine, with pink brides roses. Then little Miss Mary Moye Carper of Greenville bearing the wed ding ring upon a silver tray. Next the bride, gowned in a lovely going away suit of blue broadcloth, with hat to match carrying white brides roses entered on the arm of her bro ther Mr. Joel Jloye and was met at tl)e chancel by the groom and hi.4 best man Mr. J. Capital Letters igners and big American land owners P*u'->i“eton, N. C. They were unifd together with .\merican politics and I 1‘tlieve as much as 1 believe there 13 a God in Heaven the Mexican trou ble will adjust itself. As to the leaders, who are they, w'herc do (hey first start the trouble, where do they r,et their financial backing? Wlien all these things are threshed out to the leople then many of us will take another view of the situation. 11 o'.d General Diaz had killed Madero vhen he started his first revolution and was captured, if Madero had killed f'elix Diaz when he was arrested in Vera Cruz, then again if Madero after tiie success of the bombardment of Mexico City had not been killed what? Now after the moral support Carranza and Villa have had from the American Government against Huerta, what have we now instead of Huerta’s dic tatorship, we have two dictators in stead of one and they fighting each ether. Has our good American gov ernment done any good for the Mexi can people? Who is old General Diaz, who was Madero, who is Huerta, Carranza, Villa or any other leade;- In Mexico? Find one looking for more than personal ambition and you can have my life. The Mexican peo ple are good people they are not mean and cruel as many people believe they are.
