Greenville People Assist In Rescuing Chililren From Burning Home A party of young people from this place report the burning of a colored man's home near Tarboro yesterday which happened just as they were passing while autoing. The party v as composed of Misses Kthel Skin ner, Rubello Korbo.s, Jyoui.sa Grant and Messr.s. .J, 1(. Kitlrell and II. M. I’hil- lips. The lire was discovered before they reached the house and by the tini(' they got to it tlie tire had gained considerable headway. They as,sisted in removing the household goods, practically all of which were saved, and rescued three small children, which were alone in the house at the time ot the fire. The house was a three-room, tenant house, bettor than the average and is a complete loss The llrii started under the roof near the middle of the house and no caus*) for the fire could ho found. It Is pretty certain that the children would have been burned up had it not been for the prompt and timely assistance of the party, '/'hey were too small to save themselves and as the fire wa4 making rapid headway they would have soon been beyond rescue.
