Henry Stokes, in a series of revival services at the Carrboro Baptist Church next week, begin ning each evening at 7:30 p.»n. Everyone is invited to attend the reVival and other services of 1he church. In preparation for the revival collage prayer meeting are being held this week at a number o£ local homos. On Monday evening the prayer services were held in different sections of the commun ity at the following homes: Mr. anti Mrs. Phillip Aiidrew.s. Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Boyd, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Settlomirc, and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Ray. Prayer meetings tonight (Thursday will be held at the following homes: Mrs. 1 ,F. Har dee, Mr. and Mrs. Aubrey How ard. Mr. ami Mr.s, Frank Poytliress and Mr. and Mr.s, Wade Bland. Everyone is invited to attend the prayer meetings. on Monday evening of this week were led by Miss Brenda Howard, Youth Leader, Miss Howard is the daughter of Mr anti Mrs. Aubrey Howai-d of Carrboro. Services were held Sunday after noon at the Mt.'Gilliad Baptist Church near Piltsboro, in Chat ham County. Mrs. M. E. Lanning is improving after being ill for the last week. Mrs. Jame.s Yates has been a patient at Watts Hospital, Dur ham. since Saturday. She is under going Irealmont there. Taylor Fowler has been a pat ient at N. C. Memorial Hospital for the past 10 days. Mrs. Will Moore who has been .spemling: some time here with her daughter. Mrs. Clarence Farrell, Mr. Farrell and family left last Sunday for a visit with another daugher, Mr.s. David Hyden in ■Richmond, Va. Mr. and Mrs. Yy- don came for a visit here last weekend and Mrs. Moore return ed with them to Richmond. Mrs. Eric Riggsbcc underwent an operation at N. C. Memorial Hospital last Friday. Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Pressley and children of Charlotte w’ere visi tors at the weekend to Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Hackney and other relatives here. Charlie Merritt is recuperating at his home out on the Hillsboro Highway after a stay of two weeks in N. C. Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Earle Perry is recuperat ing at her home here after a stay of some time and undergoing an operation at Watts Hospital. Dur- Mr.s. I. F. Hardee and members of her family will hold a family get-together at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Morris Fuqua and family at this weekend at the Fuqua home in Yanceyville. Mr. and Mrs. Jake Pritchard and children of Graham cajne for a visit a the weekend with Mrs. Pritchard’s parents, Mr. and Mr.s. Judge William S. Stewart levied the fines after finding .the de fendants, Carl B. Briles, and Dick erson E. Marlow, guilty of racing on the Smith I,evel Road south of Carrboro last Saturday afternoon. Both pleaded not guilty to the charges but offered no testimony. They were released on bond pend ing trial by jury in Orange i County Superior Court at Hills- ■ boro.
