Chrest George, well-known wreat-
wrestler of Waynesville, who won the
state championship from George
Chakales on December 19, 1923, has

In 1917 Chrest Cvrce was the
middle-weight charipion it the State
of New York. In V) '5 he was middle
weight champioin and athletic tnstror
tor in the 12th Division.
In 1919 and 1920. George was the
middle-weight champion of the State
of Connecticut In 1921 he toured the
country and met all comers, mostly
from the Southern States. In 19;W

here, losing only one to Fritz Har.
son.
In 1923 Chrest George won the
state championship of North Carolina
on the night of December 19th.
George says that he will wrestle
any middle-weight in the United
States of America on any date be
tween now and January 1st, 192'-,
when he will quit the ring.
He states that he will be glad to
wrestle anyone who is the middle
weight champion of any state during
the next few months.
Chrest George is said to be one of
the most scientific middle-weight
wrestlers in this oart of the country,
He is proprietor of the Waynesville
Cafe and has other business interests
Chrest George has made considerable
money this year, it iis said, in the
real estate game. Having speculated
heavily and cleaned up.
SUNDAY SCHOOL CONVENTION.
Officers of Havwood County Sun
day School Association are of the
opinion that one of the most inter
estinar and heloful. as well as one of
the most largely attended, Suftday
school meetings ever held m tfle coun
ty will be the annual County Sunday
School Convention at the Baptist
church, Canton, on Tuesday and Wed
nesdav. October 13 and 14.
Programs of the convention havs
been mailed to all pastors and Sun
day school superintendent in the
countv. with special Invitations to
attend the convention themselves, and
requesting that they try to get their
Sunday, school teachers and officer
tc attend.
The convention program includes
addresses and conferences on prac
tically all phases of the work of the
modem Sunday school: In arrang
ing the program the small Sunday
school was eiven much attentran.
During the convention there will be
Question and discussion periods, when
those Dresent will have opportunity to
give and get information concernirg
any Sunday school problem.
Representing the North Carolina
Sunday School Association in the
convention will be Miss Daisy Magot,
Chldren's Division Superintendent

The Haywood County Sunday
School Association is one of the units
of the North Carolina Sunday School
Association, in which Sunday school
workers of all evangelical denomina
tions participate. At this time 'ninety-eight
of the one hundred counties
in the State are organised into Coun
ty Sunday School Associations, many
of which are completely organised
and doing fine work. '
