MONEY IN OLD CLOTHES. jl- i h'-r- Our second hand cJotnes sale has kept up better this summer than nny previous summer and wc feel that it is largely due to Ine space which the newspapers of our state so kindly gave us in June, but I feel that your people are forgetting us again and so we are asking you to remind them once moie to send us clothes. We are simply overwhelmed with boarding pupils this term and we are having to buy double decker beds in order to house them. Wo must pro vide work for each of these boardere, for we take only those who need to be self supporting. It all depends upon the quantity and quality of Jothes which you send us this winter, and we urge you to send all you possibly can as often as you posri bly can. Also will you appeal through your I received a telegram from Mr. A. S Johnston, Sales Manager of the Fordston Development, to reserve a certain lot In my assignment for the immediate erection of a cottage. I .telegraphed him the lot he selected had been sold, but referred him to another lot, which he informed n;e would be accepted for this purpose. Up to date fifty-three lots have been sold to residents of Waynesville. When I was in Florida I was asked to sell lots in a development, no lot in which was less than $6,500. Their Lakeland sales manager told me thrt $10,000,000 of this property was sold in thirty days, and yet I preferred to sell property so that the person of moderate means the school teacher the farmer, the merchant, anybody who has a small income can pur chase one or more lots and share in the profits at the time improvements are made to insure them substan,;al returns. I am kept in constant touch with the improvements being made. A Tampa Tribune of recent date says: "Henry Ford, who owns the light ing plant at Lallelle, will be asked to improve the system, or make it pos sible for a utility company to fur.iish light for the city. "A mile of sidewalks in the resi dential section is among the co-i'eni-plnted improvements." To show you something of the prices of real estate in LaBe!!o. the same Tampa Tribune says: "The Jennings property, corner of Bridge street and Firi Thompsor avenue, consisting of nine 25-foot lots, has been optioned for $15000." I went to Sylva on Tu -iiv. to in terview Miss Lassie Kelly, who will be associated with me in the sale of the Fodston Development in our terri tory, which extends througn Ohailo'.te. If you want to make one huii Ired per cent on an invest.-ntiit within a year, I believe it can be done bv purchasing lots in the Fordston Devel opment. MAUDE McCULLOCH. !
