This unexpected invasion of a bridal party caused quite a sensation and the news spread like wild fire all over town. In fact, every body, new it in less time than it takes to tell it. After hearing the news the next impulse was to get a glimpse of the newly married pair. And with that in view a number of people gathered near the scene of their tem porary shelter. , Who they were was soon re vealed by their departure f om the home of the bride's sister, Mrs. A. L. McMurray, for their own cozy little cottage; "opposite the Presbyterian church. The bride was Miss Carrie I-anghter, one of Cooper . Gap's fair maidens. Harris, of Rutherfordton, at the home of the bride's mother. Squire Harris said they were the 1 1 2th couple he had made happy by tieing the wedding knot. ' The wedding was a complete surprise to most people, but it is easily seen that it was a love match pure and simple.
