Foster and family would move to Spartan burg for the same purpose but he has not fully decided upon the change. The death of Francis S. Coxe last Thursday morning in Phil adelphia removes another mem ber of this large and prominent family so well-known to many of our people. The interment took place at Rutherfordton where the remains of the late Col. Franklin Coxe, his father, are interred. The friends of Dr. and Mrs. Worth will be pained to learn of th death, recently in New Smyrna, Fla., of her sister Mrs. -Henrietta L. Hawley. Mrs. Hawley had visited Columbus and was acquainted with a num ber of people here who will sym pathize with Mrs. Worth in her bereavement R. M. Connell of Henderson county, agent of the Federal Department i n the eradication of the .cattle tick fever was here Saturday. He stated - that the number of infected farms in the county had been materially re duced since h i s, last visit and that the county would soon be released from quarantine, and a farm quarantine, only, be main tained against those farms yet infected. Two barrels of crude petroleum for free distribution to farmers for greasing cattle to rid them of ticks have been placed at their disposal, one at J. T. Green's, Mill Spring and one at J. B. Roach has purchased the Faulkner Gold mine tract at the foot of Tryon mountain which was sold here at public outcry on Nov. 20th. Rev. T. L. Brown and wife, of England, who are; sojourning in this country, are here on a visit. Rev.
