P Insurance Dividends To Be Paid Soon H iTTl ' than <327 million in 1863 GI ? insurance dividends - including a P"Special dividfend of $90 million - I %ill be paid in record time, accord b Ug to J. D. DeRamus. Manager of |.Uy V. Salem, N. C. Plans for payment of both regu lar and special 1963 dividends were announced by the White House Nov ember 22. Under a greatly speeded-up time table, the entire payment of both regular and special dividend pay ments la expected to be completed during the month of January, IMS, DeRamus said. About $222 million of (be $527 mil lion total is the regular 1983 divid end that will go to nearly five mil lion World War II veterans holding National Service Life Insurance (N SLI) policies. . More than $15 million will go to 250,000 World War 1 veterans who hold U. S Government Life In surance (USGL1) policies. Regular dividends, which are dis tributed annually, have regularly been paid on the anniversary date of the original issuance of the pol icy. On this occasion, the payments will be speeded up to be completed i within the month of January. Mr. iDoRamus said an accelerat ed method was used once before by 1 ???0i I the Veterans Administration when the regular dividends during 1961 were paid by mid-March of that year. In addition to the regular divid end, the VA will pay a special div idend 90 million during 1963 to all World War II NSU policyholders. A previous special dividend was paid to World War II policyholders during 1961. The regular dividends which are ?aid to both World War I and Wor ld War II policyholders are primar ily a return to the policyholders of part of their premium payments since the death rate among Q1 pol icyholders continues to be lower than the rate upon which the pay ments were established fay law. The special dividend will be paid from the contingency reserve fund due to. the fact that study and cur rent experience indicate that the fund is more than ample to twet the needs of the insurance program. Mr. DeRamua reminded veteran policyholders that the preparing and mailing of the dividend pay ment will be automatic and will re quire no correspondence from vete rans or their families. In fact, such correspondence might delay the dividend disbursement process, he said. ! Outlaw's Bridge News By: Mrs. J. H.
