S. , Thigpen. of Route 2, Beulavllle. 1 The vows were spoken before , an altar setting of the rostrum draped in lace with .an open Bi ble and a 'long-stemmed white mum, sjndelabra holding burning white tapers, baskets of white carnations, and mums, and la rge foliage arrangements of Jade, emerald green palms. The couple kneeled at the white kn eeling bench during the benedic tion. A program of nuptial music was presented by Mr. Edgar J. Wells of Albertson, organist and Miss Ada Thigpen, of Be ulavllle, soloist. Miss Thig pen, sister of the groom sang "1 would Be True," "Savi our Like A Shepherd Lead Us" and as a prayer, "Take Time To Be Holy,". Given in marriage by her stepfather, Mr. Ellis Klin of Route 5, Jacksonville, the bri de wore a formal gown of white bridal satin styled with an em pire waistline. The bodice, ov erlaid in re-embroidered lace featured a round neckline and long satin sleeves, tapering to points over the hand. Lace appliques accented the empire line, the neckline and the po ints in the sleeves. Lace ap pliques were repeated on the cbapel length train which fas tened with a bow at the em pire line. Her dress was made by Mrs. Letha Scott of the Ce dar Fork Community. /, Shi wore a bouffant veil of Illusion and carried a Bible, a gift of the groom, covered in white satin, and topped with a white carnation, pompoms, an orchid and white satin rib Knn.? _ Matron o f honor was Mrs. Gerald Bracey of Winston Salem, sister of the bride. She was attired In a formal gown of shrimp crepe in the empire style. Her skirt was overlaid with shrimp chiffon and soft gathers accented the back at the empire line. She wore a petal hat of shrimp chiffon and rnaline and carried a no segay of carnations and pompoms in mixed fall eolors. Bridesmaids were Mrs. St anley Miller of Sranmerville, 8. C. , sister of the bride, and Mrs. Roy Cottle of Ch arlotte, N. C. They were at tired in shrimp crepe gowns and headpieces styled identically to the honor attendant's. They carried similar bouquets. For her daughter's wedding, Mrs King chose a green mint repe dress, beige accessories and a yellow carnation corsage. MrS. Thigpen, mother of the 5room, wore a beige dress and matching lace coat, black ac cessories and a shrimp carnation corsage. The wedding was directed by Mrs. Warren Lanier of Chin quapin, aunt of the bride. RECEPTION Following .the Brown-Thlgpen wedding, a reception was held in the church Fellowship Hall, given by the family and friends of the bride. ' . Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Thigpen of .Beulaville greeted the guests and introduced them to the receiving line. The bride's table was cov ered with white peau de sole overlaid with white tulle edged in Chantilly lace. The corners were draped with white satin bows and carnations. A tall white epergne holding an arr angement of shrimp and white carnations, shrimp and green tulle and white burning tap ers centered the table. One end of the table was graced with a crystal punch bowl from Miss Ada Thigpen of Beulavl lle, sister of the groom, ser ved punch. The other end of the table held a three-tiered wedding cake topped with a sm all crystal vase holding an ar rangement of white pompoms, shrimp and white tulle and gr avy. After the traditional first sl ice had been cut by the bride and groom, Mrs. Ralph Herea of Raleigh, aunt of the groom, served the guests. Other re freshments were bridal mints and cheese dainties. Hostesses at large were Mrs. Elwood Qu inn of Beulaville, Mrs. Dor Williams, Mrs. Frank Thomas, Mrs. F. H. Danley, and Mrs, Peggy Thomas of Beulaville. Goodbyes were said to Mr, and Mrs. O. S. Thigpen. Jr, of Richmond, Virginia. WEDDING TRIP Following the reception th? new Mr. and Mrs. Thigpen left for a wedding trip to unann ounced points. Hostesses were Mrs. Gordon Kennedy, Mrs. F. H. Danley, and-Mrs. Myrtle Powers, grandmother of the groom. The bride's table was laid with a white linen cloth. Cry stal candelabra held burning white tapers and flanked-an ar rangement of white summer fl owers. Delightful refreshments were enjoyed by the guest. The bride's many useful gif ts were displayed. AUGUST BRIDE ELECT HONORED On Monday evening, August 11th , Mr. and Mrs. Don Wil liams entertained in their home friends who came to honor Mis ses Sheila Brown and Linda Kay Kennedy. Guests were greeted by Mr. and Mrs. Williams. The bride's table was co vered with pink taffeta and over laid with net. The corners were draped with pink bows and , flowers.
