The Cora K. Clifton Circle
of the United Methodist
Women met Tuesday in the
fellowship hall with Mrs.
Cleburne Moore as hostess.
Mrs. W.R. Clifton,
chairman, opened the meet
ing with all singing Mrs.
Moore gave the devotional
on Love, reading passages
and closing with an appro
. priate prayer. She then pre
sented the program on "Law
of Love" from the program
magazine.
Mrs. Ronald Oates. trea
surer. called the roll and
collected dues. Mrs. C.R.
Lewis reported on a recent
workshop held in Mount
Olive. Mrs. Henry Lewis
closed the meeting with a
prayer. A dessert course was
served to Mesdames Eunice
Faison. Ronald Gates. W.R.
Clifton. Henry Lewis. Cle
burne Moore. Clyde
Minshew and C.R. Lewis.
The evening circle met
Tuesday night in the fellow
ship hall with Mrs. Pearl

seniors of the United Metho
dist Church were honored at
a special service Sunday and
were presented gift Bibles.
They were Cynthia Brogden.
Dow Cartel. Michael Miller
and Robin Pate. The seniors
were given a few minutes to
speak to the congregation
about their plans for the
future. Floral arrangements

in the sanctuary were placed
by the parents of the
graduates and carried out the
color schemes of Southern
Wayne and North Duplin
high schools.
Presbyterians Meet
The annual birthday party
and General meeting of the
Women of the Church met
Monday night in the fellow
ship hall with President Mrs.
Tommy Taylor presiding.
Rev. C. A. Lingle Jr., pastor,
presented the birthday ob
jective. Mrs. Harriett Taylor
presented the devotional.
The off. ring was to support
several theological semi
naries of t... hurch. Birth
day cake, nuts, mints and
punch were served to the
women present.
