Mr. and Mrs. Albert Carter drove to Deep Run to the fiome of Mr. and Mrs. Elm<y Whitfield Thursday. Mrs.-Whitfield drove them to Kinston where Mrs. Carter had a medical appointment. M(. and Mrs. Leslie Horne , of Warsaw visited Mr. and ' KLg.I John Forbes Cottle FWay Mt. and Mrs. Albert Carter were in Kenansville Friday to view the huge appIC tree in the yard of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Ingram. The Ingrams gave them a peck of apples to bring home. Mf. and Mrs. Kinney Whafey.have returned home after vacationing and touring in tne state of Florida. ?ev* .and Mrs. Garland shee have returned home from a conference in Ridge crest. W.V. Oxlev Jr. and J.D. Cottle enjoyed a seafood dinner at Sneads Ferry Sunday. Mr. Oxley and Susan left Wednesday to take his nephew, Gregory Elkin, back to his home in Beckley, W.Va. He will be entering college in Hunting ton, W.Va. after spending the summer with the Oxleys. Susan and her father re turned home Friday. Mrs. Colon Shaw spent Saturday thru Tuesday at White Lake with her sister, Rosabelle Cox of Richlands and Mrs. Cox's daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. James Baggett. Mrs. Richard Bostic entered Lenoir Memorial Hospital Sunday and is sche duled for tests and possible surgery. Julia Dean King is re cuperating nicely at home following surgery at DGH in Kenansville. Joe Hill Rhodes is at home recuperating from a long stay in DGH. Edith Johnson is a patient in a hospital in Durham. She is a very good friend of some families here. Oliver Blizzard is a patient in DGH in Kenansville. 50th Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Hunter will be celebrating their fiftieth wedding anni versary with an open house on Saturday, August 29, from 7-9 p.m. at their home in Beulaville. All their friends and relatives are invited to come help them celebrate this occasion. Harvest Day Sale The Potters Hill Advent Christian Church will have a Harvest Day Sale Saturday at the Potters Hill Ballfteld beginning in the morning. Activities planned from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. include games for all ages ? sack race, bingo, cake walks, dunking machine, Softball toss and a horseshoe tour nament. The auction starts at 5 p.m. and Hymn Sing at 6-8:30. A country store will feature handmade crafts, Christmas decorations and home canned foods. Barbecued pork and fried chicken dinners, hot dogs and other snacks will be available, along with home made desserts and soft drinks.
