Senior Citizens Trip
A group of the Sandv Plain
senior citizens have signed
up to go on a trip to Texas
Gulf and Camp Vandermerc
on Monday. May 31. leaving
from the Sandy Plain Free
Will Baptist Church at 7:30
a.m. If any of those signed
up arc unable to go on the
trip to Camp Vandermere.

Mrs. Sarah Kennedy was
honored Sunday with a
birthday dinner given by her
children. There were 146
children, grandchildren and
friends who gathered at her
home to help celebrate with
barbecue and a complete
meal. Randall Atkinson of
the rest home in Beulaville
was present.

turned home Friday alter a
long stay in Duplin General
Hospital.
Mrs. Frank Hall is a
patient in Rex Hospital in
Raleigh.
Wheelchair
Race At
Guardian Care
A wheelchair race was
held at Guardian Care
Nursing Home during
National Nursing Home
Week.
Seven wheelchair resi
dents entered with many
other residents encouraging
them from the sidelines. The
residents participating were
Miss Vickie Armstrong. Mrs.
Annie Ez/ell. Miss Vera
Thigpcn. Obcdiah Williams.
Henry Williams. James
Carmon and Bill Pate
The best three received
recognition. An engraved
plaque was given to Williams
for first place. Second and
third received ribbons. Mrs.
Annie E//cll was second and
Miss Vickie Armstrong third.
Other activities during the
week included a family
covered-dish supper, a per
formance by the Warsaw
See-Saw s, and a cookout and
pet show.
