Lois Faye Boyette and
i Robert Earl Jackson were
married at Johnson Baptist
1 Church near Warsaw on
August 7th. The bride is the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Elvin Boyette of Warsaw.
The groom is the son of Mr.
and Mrs. Horace Jackson of
Pink Hill.
The doulbe-ring ceremony
was officiated by the Rev
erend Kenneth Durham after
introductory songs sung by
Anita Waters of Faison ac
* companied by J.W. Boyette
on the piano.
The bride was escorted to
the altar and given in mar
riage by her brother, Brooks
Boyette. The bride wore a
formal gown of white sil
kened organza and Chantilly
lace over peau de soie. Her
g(/wn was fashioned with a
fitted all lace bodice desig
ned with a Queen Anne
neckline accented with seed
pearls and a keyhole back
and long full lace bishop
sleeves with deep lace cuffs.
The A-line skirt was en
hanced with a crystal pleated
panel of silkened organza
edged with lace and the
panel flowed down the
cathedral train trimmed with
lace which continued around
the hemline of her gown. The
bride chose a tiered cathe
dral-length mantilla of
imported silk illusion with
pencil edging and Chantilly
lacc which fell from a lace
Camelot cap adorned with
seed pearls. She carried a
bouquet of pastel silk
summer flowers.
Attending the bride as
matron of honor was Doris
Nielson, sister of the bride.
Doris wore a formal gown in
light blue silk knit. Her gown
was designed with a pleated
skirt and an elastic neckline
and elbow-length sleeves.
Bridesmaids were Cheryl
Nielson of Mississippi, niece
of the bride; Pam Godbold of
Warsaw; and Ozell Jackson
of Kinston. sister of the
groom. They wore formal
Italian silk gowns in rainbow
colors. The gowns were de
signed with a high neck,
sheer cape covering the spa
ghetti straps that comple
mented the pleated skirts.
Leigh Ann Carlton of
Warsaw attended as flower
girl. Leigh Ann wore a dress
of powder blue Italian silk
with cap sleeves.
The groom chose his father
as best man. Ushers were
Tommy Boyette of Warsaw,
nephew of the bride; Benny
Ray Batchelor of Warsaw,
cousin of the bride; Gary
Hardison of Pink Hill; and
Patrick Boyette of Warsaw,
nephew of the bride, was the
ringbearer.
The wedding was directed
by Connie Carlton of War
saw. Presiding at the guest
register was Debra Britt of
Warsaw.
After a short wedding trip,
the couple is residing at
Route 2, Warsaw.
Wedding Reception
The wedding reception
was held in the fellowship
hall of the church imme
diately after the ceremony.
^Guests were greeted by Miss
Harriet Kissner of Magnolia.
They were served slices of
the four-tiered wedding cake
along with mints, parched
pecans and punch. Mrs.
Emma Lockamy of Warsaw,
cousin of the bride, and Nan
Scott of Warsaw, served the
cake. Mrs. Edith Manwiller
of Southern Pines, aunt of
the bride, served the punch.
The hall was decorated with
fresh greenery and summer
flowers with candles.
Rehearsal Dinner
The wedding rehearsal
was held at the church and
was followed by a light
supper in the fellowship hall
of the church. Refreshments
consisted of chicken salad
Sandwiches, pimento sand
wiches, parched pecans,
cookies and coke. At this
time the bride and groom
gave their gifts to the atten
dants.
Showers
The bride and groom were
given their first wedding
shower prior to their wed
ding in the fellowship hall of
Johnson Baptist Church. The
hall was decorated with fresh
marigolds. Refreshments
consisted of cake squares,
mints, peanuts and punch.
The miscellaneous shower
was hosted by Circle Number
One of the church.
On July 17th, Mrs. Charles
B. Godbold and Miss Pam
Godbold of Warsaw, honored
the bride and groom with a
linen shower. Mrs. Godbold
had fresh flowers on the
table and refreshments con
sisted of cake squares, pea
nuts and punch.

o'clock on Saturday, August
21st in Sandy Plain Free Will
Baptist Church. The Rev.
Wayne King and the Rev.
Ransom McAbee officiated
at the double-ring ceremony.
The bride was 'given in
marriage by her parents and
was escorted to the altqr by
her father. She is the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Percy Kennedy of route 2,
Pink Hill.
The groom is the son of
Mr. and Mrs. Phillip D.
Merritt of Route 2, Fayette
ville.
The bride wore a white
formal gown of organza with
silk Venise and Schiffli lace.
It featured a high silk Venise
lace-trimmed neckline, schif
fli embroidered yoke, empire
lace trimmed bodice with
triple caplet which formed
the sleeves. A full skirt with
motifs of lace and lace
trimmed flounce flowed into
an attached chapel train. Her
veil was of three-tiered lace
trimmed with a pearl
covered headpiece. She car
ried a silk bouquet of yellow
and white roses with daisies,
lavender, blue and peach
flowers, and lace streamers.
Miss Ellen Houston of
Pink Hill, cousin of the bride,
was the maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Miss Nan
nette Maready of Kinston,
cousin of the bride: Mrs.
Melanie Seymour of Pike
ville; and Miss Kim Pickett
of Beulaville. Miss Betsy
Kennedy of Pink Hill, sister
of the bride, was the junior
bridesmaid.
The groom chose his father
to serve as best man. Ushers
were David Moore of Fay
ette, Douglas Kennedy of
Pink Hill, brother of the
bride; and Tony Souder of
Arapahoe.
Nuptial music was pre
sented by Roy Lewis of
Aurora and Mike Warren of
Spivey's Corner, pianists.
Mrs. Deborah King of Kin
son, Miss Lora Chesmore of
Pink Hill, and Miss Rhonda
Jones of Goldsboro were the
vocalists.
The wedding was directed
by Mrs. Margie Smith of
Kinston. Miss Cathy Herring
of LaGrange and Miss Hope
Smith of Kinston presided at
the register.
The bride is a 1980 gradu
ate of East Duplin High
School and a 1982 graduate
of Mount Olive College with
an associate in science de
gree. She will be employed in
Raleigh.
The groom is a 1979
graduate of Cape Fear High
School and a 1981 graduate
of Mount Olive College with
an associate in science de
gree. He is now attending
Wake Technical College in
Raleigh studying computer
technology and is employed
part-time for Pace Corpora
tion in Raleigh.
After a wedding trip to the
Outer Banks, the couple will
be residing in Raleigh.

miscellaneous bridal shower
was given for the couple at
Pleasant Grove Baptist
Church in Fayetteville by
friends of the groom and his
mother.
On August 7th, a floating
miscellaneous bridal shower
was given for the couple at
the home of Mrs. Tyson
Houston of Pink Hill. Mrs.
Earl Maready of Kinston and
Mrs. Tyson Houston, aunts
of the bride, and Mrs._Dewev
Houston of Mount Olive were
the hostesses.
On August 15th, a lingerie
shower was given by the
maid of honor and the
bridesmaids at the home of
the bride.
A nio-nicking was given
honoring the bride and
groom on August 20th at the
home of the bride by the
parents of the bride and
groom.
Also qn August 20th, a
cake-cutting was given
honoring the bride and
groom after the rehearsal.
