Williams-Warren Speak Vows Ethelyn Marie Williams ind Ronnie C. Warren were inited iin marriage at 5 >.m. Saturday Oct H at ihe Deep Run First Baptist Church. The Rev. Jirnmie L. Williams officiated at the double-ring ceremony. She was given in mar riage by her parents. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Vance Williams of Deep Run. The groom is the son of the late Otho J. Warren and Mrs. Jewel La whom of Willow Springs. 'The bride wore a princess line full-length white silk organza gowh which featured a pearl em broidered alencon lace bodice, long full bishop sleeves with lace cuffs, and a natural waistline. Srsllom of lace edited the hemline of the skirt and the attached chapel length train. Her headpiece was a pearl embroidered alencon lace covered cap and a two tier silk illusion walk ing length veil with scalloped lace trim. Attendants Lynn W. Cox of Kinston was her matron of honor. Maid of honor was Ann Williams. Shelia Koonce Warren and Gayle Williams were bridesmaids. The groom chose the Rev. Robert Wayne Prescott of Raleigh to serve as his best man. The music was presented by organist Valeria Taylor, and pianist Nell Sutton, the soloist was Junious Williams. The wedding was directed by Mrs. Audrey H. Williams of Deep Run. Presiding at the register was Kay S. Jones of Green ville. The bride is a graduate of Hardbarger Business Col lege and is currently employed with the N.C. Court of Appeals Central Staff. The bride also serves as minister of music at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. The groom is a graduate ;* of King's Business College and is employed as a mechanic with Carolina Power and Light Company. After a wedding trip to Fon tana Village and the Great Smoky Mountains, the couple will reside at 411-A Avers boro Road, Gamer. The reception followed immediately after the ceremony in the fellowship hall of the church. Assisting in the serving 'were Velma H. Martin, Mrs. Mildred Waller, Alice Prescott, Phyllis Sealey. Jennette Smith, Margaret McLaurin, Debbie Barnes, Kristen Williams and Mar dy Hooks. Guests were welcomed at the reception by Mr. and Mrs. John Braswell Smith of Kinston and the Rev. Larry H. Hutchens of Deep D..n nuii. Hie bride was honored at a miscellaneous shower on Sept. 19, in Cary. Hostesses for the shower were Miss Gayle Williams and Mrs. Sallie Puckett. A miscellaneous shower was given by the members of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church on Sept. 24. A pig picking was held in honor of the couple on Oct. 2, in Deep Run. The pig picking was given by Mr. and Mrs. Vaiice Williams; the Rev. and Mrs. Jimmie L. Williams of JDeep Run; Miss Ann Williams of Durham; and Junious Williams. A bridesmaids luncheon was given by Mrs. Jimmie L. Williams on Oct. IS at the home of the bride's aunt in Deep Run. A "get together" was held after the rehearsal on Friday night at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bras well Smith in Deep Run. Hostesses were Kay Jones, and Nell Sutton. DUPLIN COUNTY LIBRARY Children's Story Hour The Duplin County Dorothy Wightman Library reminds interested parents and children of the pre schoolers' story hour being held in the children's area of the library. James Sprunt Foundation Presents Resolution In Memory Of Winifred T. Wells The James Sprunt Foun dation Board of Directors adopted a resolution in memory of Winifred T. Wells, an attorney from Wallace, who served as a member of the board of directors from 1979 until her death earlier this year. Tom Yates, chairman of the board, presented the resolution to Mrs. Wells' husband. Dr. D.L. Wells of Wallace. In addition to the reso lution, the Foundation funded a scholarship in memory of Mrs. Wells, awarded to Warren Kennedy of Beulaville, a student in the criminal justice program at JSTC. Governor Honors Duplin Volunteers Outstanding volunteers in Duplin County will be hon ored by Gov. and Mrs. James B. Hunt Jr. on Tuesday, Oct. 26 in Williamston at the Martin County Auditorium on the Williamston High School campus. A reception will beein at S p.m. followed by the 1982 Governor's state wide Volunteer awards cere mony at 5:30. The following volunteers will receive awards in five categories: Al Smith of War saw received the individual human service volunteer award; William Brinklev of Chinquapin received the individual community volun teer leader award; John Bell of Faison received the senior citizen volunteer award; Chinquapin Volunteer Fire and Rescue received the community volunteer organization award; and the Wallace United Methodist Church received the church/ veligious volunteer group <award. > A local selection commit tee was appointed by the Duplin County Involvement Council to choose the top volunteers in their commu nities. Magnolia United Methodist Women The Magnolia United Methodist Women met Oct. 14. Mrs. Betty Lanier had the devotion. Mrs. Pickett, pre sident, welcomed the large crowd from the parish and neighboring churches. Mrs. Maude Smith intro duced the missionaries. Mr. and Mrs. John Smith from - f t Tanzania. Africa. They shared in showing slides and reporting on their work for the past four years. They said the Africans are ready to hear about Jesus but many more workers are needed to meet this need. The group appreciated John and Christine sharing their experiences.
