i Jo? Lanier son i * _ 9^ 1 believe Duplin Couaty needs the super highway 1-40. I also believe Duplin needs as good a tobacco program as can possibly be obtained. . .Believing these two things to be important to Duplin County, the only way I can vote on November 2nd is for Duplin's old friend, Charlie Whitley. . .A large turnout is needed in this general election. . .There is little doubt Whitley will win in Duplin County. . .However, there are other counties in which he might not fare so well. . .So, a large vote in Duplin will help him in other counties as it all comes down to numbers. . .The opposition has stated several times he is not for Interstate 1-40. . .And. his inexperience in tobacco could be a disaster. . .And. you only need one loss to be really lost. 1-40 is the salvation of southeastern North Carolina. The growth and economic development of this area is directly . tied to that highway. . .In fact, it would not surprise me if campaign funds were not available for folks who would not support that highway from areas like Myrtle Beach, S.C. and the growing and developing western part of North Carolina. . .With satellite communication and break throughs in tie-in computers, an area once thought to be vital for growing companies is no longer true. A company can locate most any place and have all the information at its fingertips in a matter of seconds. . .However, that company does need good roads to ship out and ship in its products. 1-40 is this road in this area. To help Duplin in this area of improvements, there is only one candidate who has not said he was against the road. . .Charlie Whitley. ? Son-of-a-Gun. .. tr^tmrrwrnmramamarm MIRANDA B.
