Beasley-Smith United In Marriage Hope King Smith and Shelton Bland Beasley were united in marriage at three o'clock Sunday. October 24 at Woodland United Metho dist Church, Route 1, Albertson. The Reverend H. Worth Pearce officiated at the double-ring ceremony. The bride was given in marriage by her parents. She is the daughter of Mr. and 9 Mrs. Rvan Elbert Smith of Albertson and Ms. lona King of Kinston. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Earl Manning. Route I, Pink Hill and the late Thelton Beasley. The bride wore a formal white gown of shcerganza and Chantilly lace. The gown was fashioned with a Queen ? Anne neckline encrusted with pearls and lace sleeves which closed with deep cuffs. A white satin ribbon en circled the waistline and fea tured a bow ending in streamers in the back. Chan tilly lace formed a redingotc effect, cut away to encircle the A-line skirt which flowed into an attached chapel length train. Her fingertip veil of silk illusion, bordered ? in lace, was attached to a matching lace capulet etched with pearls. She carried a bouquet of daisies that cas- | caded with pink roses and babies'-breath. Elizabeth Antoinette Moodv was maid of honor. i She wore a long dress of lavender and carried a bou quet of pink roses. The groom chose his brother, James Robert Beasley, for best man. Wedding music was pro vided by Mr. and Mrs. John Walton of Jacksonville. The wedding was directed by Mrs. Chester King of Route 2, Mount Olive. Miss Sandra Henderson and Miss Patricia Carter presided at the register. Reception A reception was held im mediately after the ceremony and was hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Ryan Smith Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Charles Beas of Nashville, and Mr. and Mrs. Worley Keene of Four Oaks. Miss Michelle Smith of Albertson and Miss Stephanie King of Kinston gave the guests rice bags. After-Rehearsal Party An after-rehearsal party was held at the church fellowship hall and was hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Ryan Smith of Albertson Shower A miscellaneous shower was given on Oct. 15 at Woodland Church fellowship hall and was hosted by relatives of the bride. Additional refreshments con sisted of pimento sand wiches, chicken salad in patty shells, cheese wafers, mixed nuts, lemon wafers and orange mints shaped like miniature pumpkins. Slumber Party Penny Bowden was 11 years old on Oct. 15 and celebrated with a slumber party in the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Nick Bowden in Pinecrest Acres Friday night. Her guests were: Donna Shoup, Gigi Ammar, Tara Zackheim, Zanna Stepp and Nola Ken nedy, in addition to her sister, Kathy. After enjoying games in the afternoon they had an early supper of hot dogs with all the trimmings, potato chips, iced drinks and birthday cake, which was decorated with yellow roses and green leaves in the icing. Dixio Youth Annual Mooting All parents of current and potential new players for next year's Dixie Youth pro gram are requested to attend the Dixie Youth annual meeting scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 4 at 7:30 p.m. in the Kenansville Ele mentary school cafeteria.
