t WEDDING ANNOUNCEMENT - Mr. and Mrs. J.L. Moseley of Kenansville announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Joni Carol Nethercutt of Warsaw, to Thomas Michael Uifalusv of Southern Pines, son of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Humphreys of Orlando, Florida. A December 4 wedding is planned in Kenansville. Kenansville News ) Eastern Star Sally B. Tyndall, worthy matron, and J.B. Stroud, worthy patron, were in their respective stations Tuesday night when Kenansville Chapter #215, Order of the Eastern Star, met. During the business session, plans were finalized to sponsor the hot dog wagon here Friday and Saturday, Nov. 19th and fc20th. The by-laws of the ? chapter were read by the worthy patron prior to the ritualistic closing. Alpha Delta Kappa Among the local people who attended the Alpha Delta Kappa, honorary teachers' sorority, meeting held in the'fellowship hall of Rockfish Church Thursday knight, Nov. 11, were the following members: Sallie Ingram, Edna Earl Brinson, Vicki Alabaster, Nancy Wil son and Nancy Williamson. Their special guests were Geora Quinn Hudson and Peggy Quinn Blanchard. Couples Gub I Mr. and Mrs. Tom Fife ?were joint hosts with Mr.^and -Mrs. Lethco Wrenn for the ^Couples Bridge Club on PSaturday night at the General Store. High score prize was won by Chuck Hughes, second high by Mickey Benton and ldw by Kenneth Hink. For refresh ments, the hosts served assorted crackers and dip, pumpkin chiffon and choice of coffee, tea or coke. Four tables were in play. Worth Pearce, pastor of the Kenansville United Methodist Parish, at tended the annual convo cation and pastors' school at Duke Divinity School at Duke University in Durham several days last week. He visited his parents and others in Hickory on Thursday and returned home on Friday. Classes At Sprunt Calligraphy This 6-week class has been designed for the student to learn and practice the art of fine handwriting. They will be instructed in shaping letters, on legibility, form, size, stroke, proportion, rhythm, spacing, character and uniformity. Special em phasis will be given to the design of greeting cards for the Christmas season. The class will meet each Tuesday and Thursday from 6:30-8:30 p.m. begining Nov. 18 in the commercial art room of the Herring Building. Students will be required to purchase a textbook and calligraphy kit. Duplin Wines Awarded Prizes Duplin Wine Cellars of Rose Hill received bronze medals for its 1981 sparkling Scuppernong and its 1981 North Carolina Champagne in the 1982 Eastern wine competition sponsored by Wineries Unlimited. Association Chairman Thomas Lee Hayes said in a letter to the Rose Hill firm that 107 comoanies entered 735 wines in the competition. Twenty-eight percent re ceived awards. Duplin Wine Cellars President David Fussell said the awards are the first his winery has received in its 10 years of operation. Fussell noted that 78 years ago ? 1904 ? a bottle of sparkling Scuppernong wine produced by Paul Garrett of Garrett and Co. of ^North Carolina won the grand prize of the Louisiana Purchase Exposition in St. Louis. The Garrett company at that time was the largest wine producer in the United States. Auto Care and Tone-Up This 33-hour class has been designed for those who are interested in preventive maintenance and tune-up in both domestic and foreign private autos or trucks. The class will meet each Tuesday and Thursday from 7-10 p.m. beginning Nov. 18 in the automotive shop at JSTC. I Fight back the high cost of automotive repair by joining this class. Weekend Welding Weekend welding will be offered from 8:30 a.m to 12:30 p.m. beginning Nov. 20. The class, instructed by Warren Kennedy, will con centrate on basic arc welding using mild steel and cold rolled steel. This type of weldine is verv useful for a majority of home repairs and mechanical lu up ^rk ' on items such as trailers, autos, farm equipment and many other types of equipment. Students will receive instruc tion on cutting steel, starting welds, running beads and cleaning up welds. Students must provide supplies for this class.
