Jot Lanier Son i * g?l. m 1 have seen about the county, in stores, shops, offices and homes, plaques ? referring to Murphy's Law. Not too long ago I received a 1 plaque from International 1 Paper Company promoting a \ new foam core board for \ painting signs. The board is \ called Gatorfoam and is manufactured in Statesville. On this'foam board plaque are printed some of the Murphyisms. . .For your enjoyment. . .Murphyology (or why things go wrong). . y .If anything can go wrong, it j will. . .The Murphy Philoso phy. . Smile, tomorrow will f be worse. . .Corollaries of < Murphy's Law. . .David's Dictum - Problems that go ' jw.iv by themselves come ba^k by themselves. . .Co hoda's Law - If it looks too good to be true, it is too good to be true. . . Borstelmann's ? Rule - If everything seems to be coming your way, you are in the wrong lane. . .Allen's Theorem - In any group of eagles, you will always find some turkeys. . .Anderson's Maxims - It is impossible to out-think a person who isn't thinking. , .Agrait's Law ? A rumor will travel fastest to the place where it will cause the greatest harm. . .Ache son's Observation - An ex pert is like a eunuch in a harem ? someone who knows all about it but can't do anything about it. . .01m stead's Law - After all is said and done, a hell of a lot more is said than done. . .Peer's Theorem - The person you are leaving a note for always arrives just as you finish writing it. . .Quality of Life - Every time in life when you think you are about to make both ends meet, somebody moves the ends . .Son-of-a Gun. ... , Three Accused Of Moonshinning Three people charged with possession of non-tax-paid whiskey for sale are sche duled for first appearances in Duplin County District Court Jan. 3. Joe Champ. 74, of Bow * dens and Oscar and Carolyn Sutton of 310 S. Cross St., Warsaw, were arrested Saturday night by Duplin County sheriff s officers fol lowing telephone tips. Chief Deputy Glenn Jernigan said. The three defendants were free on $200 bond each Monday. Jernigan said the arrests are the first "white light ning" charges in about a year. "I believe there's been a little here all the time, but very little. White whiskey seems to appear especially during the holidays," he said.
