Heath-Kennedy nJnited In Marriage Shelia Gaye Kennedy and Terfy Wade Heath were united in marriage Saturday, December 18 at Sandy Plain Tree Will Baotist Church. Hie Rev. Gene Turner offi ciated the ceremony. The bride was given in marriage by her parents and Sorted to the altar by her bwlthcr, Jerry L. Kennedy of Ppnk Hill. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Kennedy of Pink Hill. She is aflso the granddaughter of .I.R. (Rommie) Mercer of Beulaville and the late Margie Mercer, and the late Ashley and Laura Kennedy. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Heath of Pink Hill. He is the l^ltldson of Walter and Ina Heath of Pink Hill and Mat 'hew and Annie Lee. The bride wore a white formal gown of silk organza which was fashioned with a see-through neckline and sheer bishop sleeves bordered with alencon lace. Matching lace formed a waist band and the border of the uawn. A chapel-length train kjlace ruffles flowed down in the back. Her headpiece, a capulet of matching lace, was attached to a lace bordered mantilla of silk illusion and flowed into a semi-cathedral-length train. She carried a bouquet of white daisies with pink and I burgundy pompons spread throughout the bouquet and accented with white stream ' a Ms. Dianne Hunter of Wallace, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. She was attired in a formal gown of burgundy crepe satin. The puffed elbow-length sleeves were attached to a v-neck bodice accented with a double ruffle on each side. The flowing full skirt was attached to a fitted natural waistline and featured a gathered satin belt. She car ried a white mum with a burgundy streamer. To com plete her attire, she wore an accent of babies'-breath in her hair. The bridesmaids were Ms. Dianne Kennedy of Pink Hill and Ms. Teresa Kennedy of Beulaville, sisters-in-law of the bride. They were dressed identically to the matron of honor except their dresses were of dusty rose. They carried white mums with pink streamers. James Heath attended his son as best man. The ushers were Mike Kennedy, brother of the bride; Tim Green, brother-in-law of the groom; and Milton Hunter, brother in-law of the bride. Kim Hunter, niece of the bride, was the flowergirl. She was attired in a bur gundy gown styled like that of the matron of honor. She carried a white basket with pink, white and burgundy flowers and tied with a burgundy streamer. Christy Lynn Kennedy, niece of the bride, was the miniature bride. She wore a white satin gown similar to that of the bride and carried a bouquet.like that of the bride. Scott Greene, nephew of the groom, served as ring bearer. He wore a grey suit like that of the groom and carried the ring on a white satin pillow with pink streamers. Suzy Sumner read a bene diction poem in honor of the bride and groom. - Marie Turner of Goldsboro served as pianist and soloist. Sherry Jones of Trenton, as a special request of the groom, played "Distant Bells." Vocal selections included "When You Created Love" and "The Wedding Prayer." Ms. Rene Greene, sister of the groom, presided at the register. The former Ms. Kennedy is a senior at East Duplin High School. The groom is a graduate from South Lenoir High School and attended Heritage Bible College in Dunn. He is presently serv ing as pastor at Stone's Chapel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church in Trenton. He is also employed at Texfi in Kinston. Courtesies On Nov. 19, the bride and groom were honored with a floating miscellaneous shower by the bride's mother at her home. A rehearsal party was given for the wedding party and families by the bride and groom's parents.
