TEACHER OF THE YEAR PARTICIPANTS Six Duplin County teachers were entered in the Teacher of the Year program. All six presented scrap books on their life, both private and as teachers. Ella Cooper Circle Meets Mesdames Bobby Heath and Sally TyndalP were co hostesses for the Ella Cooper Circle of the Women of the local Baptist Church when it met last Monday night in the home of Mrs. Heath. The meeting was presided over by Mrs. Amos Brinson and Mrs. Tyndall, assisted by Rose Swain, conducted the J" levotional. The program on Moses was presented by the Rev. Lauren R Sharpe. For refreshments, the hostesses served a congealed salad with assorted crackers, fruit cake cookies and hot apple juice to the ten present Silver Streakers Sixteen Silver Streakers met Monday at the Kenans ville Baptist Church to motor " together to Wallace for a ' dutch lunch at the Western Steak House. The welcome was given by Lorena Vestal and the blessing was asked by the Rev. Troy D. Mullis. Others attending were: Mary B. Mullis. Carolyn Outlaw, Margaret Dail. Ruby Newton, Louise K. Boney, Thelma B. Murphy, Sally Tyndall, Wilmer Pate, Annie 'ones. Fannie McGowan, Mary Jessup. Ruth B. Wells, Sallie Ingram Snd Louise W Mitchell. Liberty Hall Bridge Club Mrs. Louise W. Mitchell was hostess for the Liberty Hall Bridge Club on Wed nesday night. All members were present. Between pro , gressions, the hostess. I assisted by Mrs. Ruth B. Wells, served peach pie a-la mode and coffee and salted peanuts. High scorer was Mrs. Sallie C. Ingram. Kontract Klub Mrs. Martha Swann was hostess for the Kenansville Kontract Klub on Thursday night in the home of Mrs. Carolyn Hall. Mrs. Ruth B. | Wells substituted for an ab sent member. After three progressions. Mrs. Louise K. Boney was declared the high scorer. Mrs. Wells was also given a gift. Between progressions, Mrs. Swann and Mrs. Hall served con gealed orange salad with chedse wafers and Russian tea. I Bridge Hostess Mrs. Amos Brinson was hostess for her bridge club Thursday night. Additional guests were Mesdames Henry Guy, Joyce Bell and Beverly Rouse. High score pri/e was won by Mrs. Mark Vinson and second high by Mrs. Bert Alabaster. Conso lation prize went to Mrs. Karl Stroud and Mrs. Guy carried home the traveling prize. For refreshments. Sutton moves to Wallace from the bank's Newton Grove office where he was city executive. Having joined the bank in 1971 as a management trainee. Sutton has worked in various posi tions in Beulaville and Kenansville. He graduated from the University of South Carolina at Columbia and has com pleted the mid-management and advanced-management programs of the North Caro ling School of Banking at Chapel Hill.
