When a car crashes, chil
dren can be tossed and
thrown violently if they are
not restrained properly by
car seats or seat belts.
To help prevent painful
accidents and save young
lives. The Duplin County
Health Department. Goshen
Medical Center and other
volunteers are working to
establish an infant safety
seat rental program in the
county.
The program will offer car
seats on loan to mothers
bringing babies home from
the hospital and infants up to
age one. The car seats will be
rented for a small charge on
a first-come, first-served
basis. Another goal of the
program will be to educate
the community on the im
portance of chiid restraints.
The program hopes to start
off with a total of 30 seats. At
the present time we arc
seeking donations from indi
viduals and groups to help in
the purchase of these seats.
If you would like to help
with this worthwhile project,
contact Dgbra Beasley at
296-0441 or Eleanor Ezzell at
267-0421 or 658-6721.
