Jan. 15, 1983 in Duplin
General Hospital after a
lengthy illness.
He is survived by his wife,
Sylvia Wiggins Quinn; one
son, William H. Quinn Jr. of
the home; and his parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Herman H.
Quinn of Kenansville.
He was employed by
Southco Dist. Co. of Golds
boro for the past ten years.
Prior to that he worked with
Duplin County law enforce
ment for 12 years. He was a
member of the Kenansville
Baptist Church. He was a
32nd degree Mason and a
member of St. John Lodge
#13 and a member of Sudan
Temple. He was a former
scoutmaster of Kenansville
Troop #50. He was a member
of the Duplin County Coon
hunters Association.
Funeral services were held
at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday,
Jan. 27, 1983, in Kenansville
Baptist Church. Services
were rendered by Rev.
Lauren Sharpe and he was
assisted by Rev. John Reed.
Burial. Devotional Gardens,
Warsaw, with Masonic rites.

New Administrator
A Morehead City man has
been named administrator at
Betsy Johnson Memorial
Hospital in Dunn to replace
retiring administrator Rich
ard Roach.

head City will begin work as
hospital administrator on
Nov. 29.
Roach has been well
known in his position for
some 17 years and has
served the community in all
phases of activity. His retire
ment will be effective around
the first of February.
The new administrator is
presently serving as vice
president of professional
services and purchasing
agent at Carteret General
Hospital in Morehead City.
There he was responsible
. for nine hospital depart
ments and provided direction
and counseling to depart
ment managers in personnel
matters, departmental
budgeting, inter-hospital re
lations and the establishment
of goals for services.
As purchasing agent, he
developed a central purchas
ing department and the first
charge description master for
all goods and services to the
hospital.
The 39-year-old adminis
-j trator received a diploma in

in Asheville in 1962 and
* completed the Health Ad
ministrator Management
Improvement program at
DukeAJniversity in 1979.
He also received an A.A.S.
degree from Beaufort Com
munity College in 1971, a

College in 1972 and an M.A.
degree in management from
Central Michigan University
in 1978.

ton. He was laboratory even
