WALLACE-ROSE HILL JUNIOR VARSITY WIN - The Wallace-Rose Hill junior varsity basketball team won the East Central Conference tournament Friday night, Feb. 25 in the Kenan Memorial Auditorium in Kenansvillc. The Bulldogs were coached bv Jack Holly and trailed the Hobbton Wildcats until the fourth quarter. Wallace-Rose Hill won 44 to 39. Union High School won, the varsity boys and girls tournament divisions over Midw ay UNION WINS TW O TOURNAMENT TITLES - The Union varsity boys and girls basketball teams defeated Midway to win IWT Fast Central Conference Tournament titles. The linal play-offs were held Feb. 25 at the Kenan Memorial Auditorium in Kenansville. Pictured above. II. :he James Kenan chapter of Future Farmers was host to the annual parliamentary procedure contest. The schools participating were East Duplin. Wallace-Rose Hill and North Duplin. The first place winner was F'ast Dupl n. Wallace-Rose Hill was second and North Duplin third. James Kenan did not participate. Kenansville Dixie Youth Baseball Tryouts The Kenansville Dixie Youth baseball tryouts will be held on Saturday. March 12 and on Saturday. March 19 at Turkey Stadium below Kenan Memorial Audi torium. Any youngster w ho w ill be H years old before August I can try out. However, they cannot be 13 years old before August 1. hach youngster must nave an athletic permit signed by their parent. A permit can be obtained at the Kenansville Town Hall or at the field on Saturday. A youngster must attend at least one of the tryouts to be placed on a team. Members who played last year are automatically on the same team this year and do not have to try out. Also, a copy of the young ster's birth certificate will be necessary at the tryouts.
