Construction crews are now stringing the cable around Pink Hill. Officials of the company anticipate that vifcwers will have service within two weeks. Pink Hill residents are reminded to contact any representative of the cable company at 302 Broadwav Sreet in Pink Hill, or phone 568-4543 if interested in cable television. Anyone in Pink Hill can have the service for the cost of one soft drink per day. according to Styers. Beulaville News Mr. and Mrs. Raybourn Kennedy and Bilbro Bostic were in Greenville Thursday for medical appointments. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Bostic made a business trip to Kinston Monday. Mrs. Atwood Lee visited her sister Ruby Futreal in Duplin General Wednesday. Ellis Turner has returned to his home to recuperate after several days in Lenoir Memorial in Kinston. Randy Sandlin of Greens boro was home with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. I.J. Sandlin Sr. for several days during the past weekend. Michael Sandlin. a student at UJSC-CH, spent the spring break with his parents. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Sandlin Mr. and Mrs. Foy Jones of Jacksonville visited Mrs. Phoebe Pate and Mrs. Dora Thigpen during the week end. Sue Hallow of Greenville visited her mother, Mrs. Archie Lanier, during the weekend. Emma Miller returned home after several weeks in Duplin General. Rev. and Mrs. Ransom McAbee were called out of state during the past week end due to the serious illness of his brother. Rev. Stephen A. Smith will fill the pulpit of the Sandy Plain Free Will Baptist Church during their absence. Mr. and Mrs. Julian Lanier and girls of Knight dale spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Graham Lanier arid visited Mrs. Lahier's parents in the Chinquapin area. Floyd Davis Jr. of'Clinton visited with the W.V. Oxleys Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Thomas and family, who have been making their home in Greensboro, returned to Beulaville to live. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. June Thomas. They will be making their home in his parents old home place. Mrs. Paul Jarrell was honored with a turkey dinner by her nephew and wife? Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Campbell in the Millertown community on March 13. Sandy Plain Senior Citizens The Sandy Plain Senior Citizens met March 12 at the educational building of the church with 62 members present. Paul Jarrett gave the thanks. After the meal Mrs. Eunice Bostic held a brief business session. She reported that the building and property site that had been given to Sandy Palin Senior Citizens by Cagie Houston has been sold to a son of Gardner Houston. The committee is now looking for another site. Melba Sumner and Grace Sumner did the singing entertainment with the group participating. The meessage of the evening was i brought by Rev. Rashie Kennedy. Nathan Futreal led the group in prayer. The April meeting will be in charge of Mae Blizzard and Lura. new members from the Hargetts Crossroads area. REVIVAL Revival services will be held at Maranatha Pente costal Free Will Baptist Church. Beulaville. begin ning on Monday, March 21 and last through Sunday, March 27. Services nightly will be at 7:30 and Sunday at 7 p.m. Rev. Elbert Hollowel! of Goldsboro will be the evan gelist. Rev. Hollowell is the pastor of Northeast PFWB Church, Wallace, and has pastured Watha, Em manual, Oak Heights and St. Matthews churches. He at tended William Carter Bible College. Goldsboro, and worked in the PFWB Laity department for three years. He is well known to Duplin County for his years as director of Crusader Youth Camp in Dunn. Board Of Education To Plan Budget The Duplin County Board of Kducation began putting its 1983-84 budget together in a spceial meeting Mareh 8 in the school headquarters building in Kenansville. It also continued a review that began Tuesday night of long range facilities-plan. The board will conduct regular business at 7:30 p.m. March 15 and continue budget deliberations. That meeting also will be held in the school headquarters building. Craig Phillips. N.C'. super intendent of public instruc tion. will tour county school facilities March lb. starting with an 8 a.m. breakfast at North Duplin Elementary School near Calypso. He will visit the Warsaw. Kenansville a"d Hast Duplin schools and be the guest at a reception about 3:30 p.m. at the Wallace-Rose Hill High School. Phillips will take part in a regional school superinten dents' meeting at 7:30 at school system headquarters. Ihe board plans to approve its budget proposal in a special meeting at 7:30 p.m. March 29. It will pre sent its budget proposal to the county board of com missioners April 5. The board was informed by Herb McKim of Ballard. McKim and Sawyer. Wil mington architects, that re placement of the Kenansville Elemcntarv School rtxtf will start this week. The work will be done at no cost to the school system because of the failure of the roof on the two-year-old building.
