Mr. and Mrs. W.V. Oxley made a brief business trip to Clinton Thursday. Mrs. Paul Bolin Sr. spent several days with Mr. and Mrs Robert Mercer and haby in Chapel Hill during the past week. Mrs Cecil Hunter and family of Jacksonville visited Mr. and Mrs, Sidney Hunter during the weekend. Mao Brinson of Kenans villc visited her mother Saturday. Friends learned Sunday that Mrs. Gerald (lrma) Batts of Georgia will be entering the hospital this week. She is a Beulaville native, daughter of Adelle Matthews. Mr. and Mrs. Ray King of the Chinquapin area and Bill Batts spent a week vaca tioning and touring areas of interest in Charlotte and Berea, Ky. They were joined by Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Brinkley. They spent a few days with Mr. and Mrs. Doug Olive and family and with K.C. and Polly Lanier and family. They also went to Butcher Hollow, the home of Loretta Lynn. Parker in Cuba Navy Engineman Willie A. Parker Jr.. son of Willie A. and Ernesteen E. Parker of Route 1. Beulaville, has re ported for duty at the Naval Station in Guantanamo Bay in Cuba. He is a 19^2 graduate of East Duplin and entered the Navy in July just after he graduated. Parker received his basic training at Great Lakes in Illinois.
