WORTHINGTON HONORED Linwood Worthington of
Duplin County was announced by Clyde O. Fulk Jr., sales
manager of Farm Bureau Insurance Companies, as a top
producing agent for 1982. Worthington was selected as
one ot the ten top producing agents in North Carolina
because of his outstanding sales and service record during
the year for multi-lines of insurance. Linwood resides in
Kenansville. He is show n receiving the trophy from Robert

Friends learned Sunday
that Mrs. Gerald (lrma) Batts
of Georgia will be entering
the hospital this week. She is
a Beulaville native, daughter
of Adelle Matthews.
Mr. and Mrs. Ray King of
the Chinquapin area and Bill
Batts spent a week vaca
tioning and touring areas of
interest in Charlotte and
Berea, Ky. They were joined
by Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd
Brinkley. They spent a few
days with Mr. and Mrs.
Doug Olive and family and
with K.C. and Polly Lanier
and family. They also went to
Butcher Hollow, the home of
Loretta Lynn.

from the upstairs area of
United Carolina Bank, to the
new National Guard building
on Highway 41, west of the
stoplight in Beulaville. on
the highway.
Parker in Cuba
Navy Engineman Willie A.
Parker Jr.. son of Willie A.
and Ernesteen E. Parker of
Route 1. Beulaville, has re
ported for duty at the Naval
Station in Guantanamo Bay
in Cuba. He is a 19^2
graduate of East Duplin and
entered the Navy in July just
after he graduated. Parker
received his basic training at
Great Lakes in Illinois. He
was transferred Jan. 9 to
Cuba, where he will be
stationed for 2'/j years. His
schoolmates and friend

LOCAL AGENCY MANAGER - William J. Knowles of
Duplin County was announced by G.D. Culp. general
manager of Farm Bureau Insurance Companies, as the
state's most outstanding agency manager (Category I) for
1982. Knowles was selected because of his agency's
outstanding sales and service record during 1982 for
multi-lines of insurance. This award was presented to
Knowles at the annual sales conference of the companies
held in Raleigh March 13. 14. 15. He was escorted to the
stage bv hts district sales manager. Eddie Lindsay, and
was presented a trophy by Clyde 0. Fulk Jr.. state sales
