Beulaville News . Mrs. Russell Lanier Sr. of Wrightsville Beach spent the Mother's Day weekend at their heme here. College students home for the weekend from Campbell University' at Buies Creek .were Darlene Hunter, Renee Blizzard and Lynette i Maready. JoAnn Williams and Joyce Houston accompanied Ludie Griffin shopping in Jackson , ' ville Saturdav. Mrs. W.V. Oxley and * Leslie Susan dined in Clinton Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy La nier's children were home for Mother's Day weekend, their son of Greenville and their daughter. Gina. of Campbell University. Mr. and Mrs. Gene Swin son and children of Jackson ville spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Marion Ed wards. Rev. and Mrs. Garland j Foushee visited Ervin Lanier in Pitt Memorial in Green ville and with E.W. Gresham . in Lenoir Memorial in Kinston on Saturday. lona Collier of Trenton spent the weekend with her mother, Mrs. E. P. Thigpen. Dr. William Edward Brown and his wife, Dr. Sylvia Brown, and daughter Jessica of Greenville spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Macon J. Brown and Mr. and Mrs. P.E. Thigpen. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mercer and baby of Chapel Hill spent the weekend here with their parents in Beula ville and Kenansville. Mrs. Gerald Batts. who has been a patient in Chapel Hill several days, came to her mothers home in B*ula ville Friday. She expects to return to Chapel Hill this week and hopes to be able to return to her home in Georgia soon. Rev. and Mrs. Foushee spent an evening with his mother in Sanford during the weekend. Sandy Plain Senior Citizens The Sandv Plain Senior Citizens met May 7 in the educational building of the church. They enjoyed their regular covered-dish supper. Mrs. L.M. Bostic. president, led the business session, reading the names in charge of the committees this year to make plans now for the September bazaar. They in cluded: barbecue - Ladin Lanier. This committee will call on any or all to assist and help with the bazaar as has been fnne in the past. The president gave infor mation on a trip to be taken this week to Chapel Hill. She announced the Senior Citizen Day in the Park in Kenans ville. The program was given by the youth and children of the host church. The June meeting will be in charge of Grace Sumner. Kenansville News Past Matrons & Patrons Club The May meeting of the Past Matrons and Past Patrons Club of Kenansville Chapter #215. Order of the Eastern Star, was held at the Wagon Wheel in Beulaville Monday night. May 2nd. Among those present were: Celia and J.B. Stroud, Pannie and Walter Rhodes. Virginia Holland. Louise Bonev. Thelma Murphy and Edna Earl Brinson. Visitors present were Lorena B. Vestal and Amos Brinson. Members not present are reminded that the June meeting will be held at Topsail Beach June 6th. Kontract Klub Mrs. E.S. McGowan was hostess for the Kenansville Kontract Klub when it met with her last Thursday night. Additonal guests were Elaine Hall. Harel Scott and Marie Warrington. After three pro gressions. Mrs. Sheldon Swann was declared high scorer for members and Mrs. Hall for the visitors. For refreshments. Mrs. Mc Gowan served strawberry shortcake, coffee and roasted pecans. Personals Mrs. Amos Brinson at tended the Alpha Delta Kappa state convention in Greensboro last weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Blanton of Turkey visited Mrs. Thomas Hughes on Friday afternoon. N.B. Boi.ey Jr. of Char lotte spent the Mother's Day weekend here with his mother. Mr. and Mrs. George Penney attended the 50th Anniversary reunion of his graduating class at NCSU last week. Mrs. Ellis Vestal attended commencement exercises at NCSU in Raleigh last week end. Rev. and Mrs. Troy D. Mullis accompanied by Louise K. Boney and Sallie Ingram attended a Blood mobile workshop in Green ville Thursday. Susan Craft of Raleigh spent the weekend with her parents. Mr. and Mrs. W.E. Craft. Mrs. Wilbur Adams of Carolina Beach spent several days here recently with her sister, Margaret Williams. They had as their guests Saturday. Ellen Shine and a friend of Rocky Mount. John Capillary of Green ville spent the weekend here with his grandparents, Rev. and Mrs. Troy D. Mullis. His parents and sister, Angela came after him on Sunday. Mrs. Dan Byrd of Lenoir has been visiting her sister, Mrs. E.S. McGowan. Mr. and Mrs. Gene En glish and Stephen of Garner have been visiting their parents, Mr. and Mrs. David English and Mrs. Sheldon Swann. Mrs. Jimmy Tart of Youngsville spent the Mother's Day weekend with Mrs. Sheldon Swann. Mrs. Wilma Grey Allen of Jacksonville spent the weekend with her mother. Mrs. Viola W. Quinn. The Jimmy Quinns of Riegelwood and the Bobby Pittmans of Jacksonville came to see Mrs. Quinn Sunday. The Jerry Paschals of Whiteville came to see the Gordon Kornegavs Sunday and took them to The Griham House Inn for dinner. The Elbert Longs spent the weekend at their cottage in Morehead City. Mrs. Paul Stephens spent Mother's Day in Raleigh with her daughter. The winners were: First - Shirley Stainback and Walter Rouse, both of Kinston; Second - Fran Beyer of Kenansville and Lee Allred of Rose Hill; Third - Kay Autry and Doug Gark. both of Kenansville. The club's quarterly Championship Game will be plaved on Mav 19. The winners of the May 2. Monday morning game were: First - Morris Gradv and Pony Quinn, both of Beulaville: Second - Kay Autrey of Kenansville and Walter Rouse of Kinston. Third - Marie Britt and Eleanor Brown, both of Wal lace. Duplin bridge is played at The General Store in Kenansville every Monday morning at 10 and every Thursday at 7 p.m. All bridge players are invited to attend.
