Special Tickets To Board Ship Beginning May 16th, stu dents in participating schools across North Carlina will have an opportunity to buy, at a special price, an ad mission ticket to board the "Elizabeth II." Proceeds will be used to outfit the ship with articles typical of those carried on board vessels of the 16th century: arms and armor, navigational instruments, casks and barrels, fireplace euqipment. baggage, tools and mess gear All items will be carefully reproduced by craftsmen to insure authen ticity and used especially for interpretive programs to stu dents. The Elizabeth U. named for a ship used on an early voyage from England to Roanoke Island, is being constructed on the water front at Manteo. As the focal point of America's 400th Anniversary, the vessel will depict the lives of early voyagers and hardships endured by settlers on long ocean voyages in vessels of this period.
