Lee-Cox Exchange Vows ? ALTAMAHAW ? Miss Beverly Jeane Cox and Nicholas Dean Lee exchang ed their wedding, vows> in a double-ring ceremony on Sunday* May 15,_ in Alta mahaw Baptist Church. The Reverend Frank Haith offi ciated at the four-o'clock "ceremony. A program of wedding music was presented by Ws. QPatsy Fann of Burlington, Organist, and Mrs. Rose Mary Leigh of Emporia, Va., vocalist. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Mart Cox, Sr. of Burlington. The bridegroom is the son of the Mr. and Mrs. J. Nick Lee and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Leland C. Herring and Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd C. Lee, all of Mount Olive. ? Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a formal gown of white silkened organza designed with a colonial neckline en circled with silk Venise lace. The fitted bodice featured a sheer yoke with silk Venise lace and pearl trim and a ruffle of Chantilly lace form ing a "v" around the yoke. Chantilly lace encircled the waistline. The long fitted sleeves were enhanced with deep Chantilly lace cuffs trimmed with silk Venise lace and closing with traditional bridal buttons. The back of the bodice featured matching buttons. The A-line skirt was fashioned with designs of silk Venise lace arid tiers of Chantilly lace adorned the sides of the train and skirt. Both were encircled with a ? borner of Chantilly lace. The cathedral-length train was enhanced with rows of Chantilly lace cascading down from the waist. Her hat was overlaid with silk Venise lace beaded with pearls, featuring a blusher with finger-tip veil and a pouf bow in back. She carried her white Bible with cascading white roses, stephanotis, ivy ? and babies'-breath. Mrs. Eva Ayers of Bur lington was her sister's matron of honor. Brides maids were Mrs. Oenise Jarrell of Winston-Salem, college friend of the bride; Miss Angie Lee of Mount Olive, sister of the groom; Mrs. Christy Enos <5 Wil mington, aunt of the groom. Honorary attendants were Miss Debbie Bazemore of Cary, Miss Debbie Wright, also of Cary, and Mrs. Penny Stewart of Charlotte. J. Nick Lee of Mount Olive was his son's best man. Groomsmen included Pren tice Herring and Curtis Her ring of Mount Olive, uncles of the groom; Johnny Outlaw of Mount Olive, lifetime friend of the groom; and Marty Cox of Burlington, brother of the bride. The wedding was directed by Mrs. Nannette Lavery of Cary. Miss Penny James of Beulaville and Mr. Bob Kor negay of Mount Olive pre sided at the register. After a honeymoon trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C., their home address will be 1127 N. Spring Garden Circle, Raleigh, N.C. 27603. The bride graduated from Western Alamance High School at Elon College and received a BS degrees in home economics from Campbell University of Buies Creek. She is employed as office manager at Reed's Jewelers in Cary. The groom graduated from East Duplin High School of Beulaville and is now major ing in textile management at North Carolina State Univer sity in Raleigh. Reception Following the ceremony, the bride's parents enter tained at a reception in the church fellowship hall. Mrs. Emma Cox, sister-in-law of the bride, poured the punch and Mrs. Margie Barnette served the three-tiered wed ding cake adorned with live lilac colored flowers. Rehearsal Party A rehearsal buffet, given by the parents of the groom, was held in the church fellowship hall. The "Make Mine Country" theme was carried out with a red and white color scheme. The chocolate iced groom's cake was a gift from Mrs. Emily Malpass. Other Entertainment A floating miscellaneous wedding shower was held on April 2 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Prentice Herring of Mount Olive, aunt and uncle of the groom-elect. Hostesses were Mrs. Jackie and Penny Herring, aunts of the groom-elect; Mrs. Marilyn Hroza, Mrs. Nancy and Ruth Outlaw; Mrs. Gwen Turner and Mrs. Irene Smith. Miss Debbie Wright honored the bridal couple with a shower on April 17 in her home in Cary. Altamahaw Baptist church fellowship hall was the set ting for a miscellaneous and pantry shower on May 1 given by the bride's family. Lori Mitchell Benefit Called Great Success The Benefit Day for Lori Mitchell on April 25 and 26 was a great success. It was sponsored by the Kenans ville Jaycettes, but the suc cess was due to the won derful response by the com munity. "We were able to raise approximately $3,400 for Lori's medical ex penses," said Chris Bass. The Kenansville Jaycettes would like to thank the Jaycees and other indivi duals who donated their time. A special thanks also is given to the buisnesses who donated their products to be used during the weekend. They include: (Warsaw) Quinn Wholesale, The Friendly Mart, B&K Gas, Paul's Food Mart, Charles' Twin State, Bland's. Ghay nell's and Hardees; (Kenans ville) Quinn's Variety, Bill Brown's Grocery. Jackson's IGA, Stephens' Hardware, Kenansville Drug Store, The General Store, Tastee Freez, United Carolina Bank, Jerni gan's Tractor, Scotchman, Whaley's Rest Home; (Beu laville) Whaley's Super market, Avon's, and Jones' Supermarket; (Goldsboro) Pepsi Bottling Company. The Kenansville Jaycettes would also like to thank all the ladies who donated their baked goods for the bake sale. ENGAGEMENT ANNOUNCED ? Mrs. Jean Jones of Albertson announces the engagement of her daughter. Terri K. Britt, to Forrest Smith, son of Mrs. Pearl Smith of Deep Run. A June 11th wedding is planned at the Free Will Baptist Church of Albertson. Miss Britt is the daughter of the late Lester Lee Britt Jr. and Mrs. Smith is the son of the late William B.
