Ludlum Appointed John Garrett Ludlum has 'been appointed to the local Board of Directors for the Warsaw office of Southern Bank and Trust Company. Garrett, a 1979 graduate of Campbell University School of Law, is a native of Wil mington. He has been asso ciated with the law office of E.C. Thompson III sinct 1979 and is presently in ar ner ship in the firm. >le is married to the former Patsy Sheffield of Warsaw and they have two sons, John and Hayes. Garrett is the son of Mrs. Sara G. Ludlum of Wil mington and the late H.B. Ludlum. Ludlum is a member of the North Caro lina Bar Association, secre tary-treasurer of the Fourth Judicial Bar Association, the Duplin County Bar associa tion, the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers, a member of the Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee of the State Bar, a member of the Delta Theta Phi law fraternity, a past deacon of the Warsaw Presbyterian Church and serves as a member of the Interdenomi national Council of the N.C. Synod of the Presbyterian Church. Prior to entering law school, Garrett was branch manager with NCNB. Na tional Bank of North Caro lina. Jean Stephen, vice president and manager of the Warsaw Southern Bank and Trust Company stated that the bank is pleased with Garrett's appointment and feels that he will be a tremendous asset to the board. Other members of the local board are: Leslie Bell, chair man; W.G. Britt Jr., Otha Lee Holland and Hugh Carl ton. Southern Bank opened its Warsaw office in July of 1966 and moved to its present location in November of 1977.
