Mrs. William Pickett, Sr. and Mrs. Milo Pickett shopped in Rockfish Plaza in Wallace on Monday. lona Collier of Trenton visited her mother, Mrs. E.P. Thigpen and sisters Mrs. Ransom Mercer and Nernie Kennedy during the weekend. Mrs. is a retired postmistress of Trenton. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Rhodes visited with Horace Rhodes in Lenoir Memorial Hospital. Kinston Thursday. Chris McMahon of Potters Hill area shopped in Bcula ville Friday. Rovine Rhodes of Golds boro visited with Mrs. Lloyd Rhodes and friends in Beula ville area on Friday. Thelma Houston and Davis Kennedy visited Horace Rhodes in Lenoir Memorial Hospital. Kinston Friday. Adron Williams of Ports mouth, Va. came to Beula ville on Monday of the past week for several days stay and visit with family. Mr. Williams plans to return home some time during this week. Penny Boyette, a college student of E.C.U. Greenville, and her friend Jimmv Stevenson also of Greenville visited her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Boyette and son Nickie Friday, also her grandparents. Her brother, Nickie, returned to Green ville with them to spend the weekend and enjoy the ball games and other sports during the weekend. Mrs. Leonard Kennedy's children living in Raleigh were here with their mother for the weekend. Mrs. Gordon Brown visited her niece. Norma Grey Worthington in Kinston Friday. Mrs. Worthington has been confined at home for a long time due to illness. J.D. Cottle visited with Mrs. Joe Turner and family near Hargctt's Cross Roads area on the past Monday. Mrs. Jay Thomas spent most of the past week in J Greenville with her children and their family in order to attend the graduation exer cises in Greenville of her grandchildren. Mrs. Thomas was called home Saturday morning due to the death of her sister. Exie W. Brock on Friday evening. Susan Herring of near Scott's Store visited with her parJnts briefly Monday. Clarence Carlton of near Warsaw and W.V. Oxley. Jr. made a business trip to Clinton Saturday. Mrs. Lewis Edwards and daughter visited Mrs. Edwards' granddaughter in a Wilmington hospital Satui day. The granddaughter had undergone surgery during last week. The Edwards are also expecting their daughter and her family of Indiana to arrive during the weekend for a visit. Mrs. W.V. Oxley made a business trip to Wallace on Monday. Tuesday Mrs. Oxley went to Duplin General Hospital to visit with friends in the hospital. Mrs. Sidney Hunter attended the anniversary church celebration of grand daughter's church. Mindv and husband, in Jacksonville on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Lemons visited her daughter. Mr. and Mrs. Phil Mercer and children in Kinston Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Macon J. Brown visited with their children. Dr. William E. and Dr. Svlvia Brown and daughter Jessica in Green ville Monday. J.D. Cottle visited with Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Turner in Potters Hill Sunday. Mrs. Kenneth McClain, her daughter Dana Smith, a friend of the McClains visited with enneth McClain in Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville Friday evening. ' Saturday evening. Mrs. McClain. her daughter, and Mrs. McClain's mother Ludie Griffin visited with Kenneth at the hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Gene Swin son. daughter and son. of Jacksonville were here for the weekend and attended the homecoming at the Halls ville Baptist Church with her sister and family. Mr. and Mrs. Michael Lanier and son. Kyle on Sunday. Rev. and Mrs. Garland Foushee spent Friday night with their daughter Karen and husband. W.V. Oxley, Jr. and Clarence Carlton made a business trip to Kinston Saturday. Rev. and Mrs. Garland Foushee attended the Halls ville Baptist CHurch home coming dinner Sunday, enjoyed a visit with REv. and Mrs. Sidney Oxendine, a former pastor and guest speaker. Rev. and Mrs. Foushee attended the Exie W. Brock funeral in Wallace, she is a sister of Mrs. Jay Thomas of Beulaville. Mr. and Mrs. I.J. Sandlin, Sr.'s children and grand children of Dudley visited with them on Sunday. SANDY PLAIN COMMUNITY SENIOR CITIZENS MEET On Saturday. June II. at 6:00 p.m. the Sandy Plain Community Senior Citizens met for their monthly meet ing at the Educational Build ing of the church with 74 members and guest in at tendance. The meeting began with the usual covered dish supper. Paul Jarrell opened the meeting with prayer. Grace Sumner then read the scrip ture for the book of Psalms chapter 100. Following the scripture. Mrs. Sumner read the many "Thank you" cards received since the last meet ing lioni the lolloping families: Annie Belle Dunn family. Lottie Thomas family. Amos Jones family. Oscar Howard family. Gardner Houston family. Johe Hill Rhodes and the Lloyd Kennedy family. The entertainment pro gram was then turned over to the Cabin Free Will Baptist group who presented a Hew Haw Show in gospel hymns. Seventy-four senior citizens attended.
