June 22. the students of Extended Day School visited and toured the Register of Deeds office. They wer welcomed by Mrs. Christine Williams! who passed out slips of paper for the students to write their names and date of birth. Office members then looked up this information for the students. The students were shown death, marriage and birth certificates and copies of deeds, and given the oppor tunity to ask questions. They were on their own searching through the death, birth and deed records looking up their birth certificates and others. Mrs. Williams indicated the students seemed interested in the ROD records. Microwave Cooking I Due to a large number of requests, arrangements have been made to have another microwave class. This class will be held Wednesday. July 13 at 7:30 p.m. at the Agri cultural Extension office in Kenansville and will be con ducted by Mrs. Virginia Harper of Albertson. Mrs. Harper, who is well known for her microwave classes in other areas, will be demonstrating how easy it is to cixik favorites such as collards. cakes and so on in the microwave. She had taught food preparation classes at Lenoir Community College for more than 13 years. Some of the classes and courses include cake decorating, making Easter breads and sweet rolls. Low calorie, international and holiday cooking, and micro wave classes. "Mrs. Harper indicated that the key to enjoying your microwave is taking time to experiment with it." stated Judy Wallace, home eco nomics extension agent. Mrs. Harper is married to Gerald Harper and has six children. Pre-registration is required and a registration fee of $1 will be collected at the door.
