Kenansville News Recent guests of Mrs. j Mattie Ward Barbee were Mrs- Frances Ward Black and Dr. Brad Holland of Kannapolis, and Emory Sadler of Greensboro. Bob Hollingsworth of San Anton m, TX. spent several days teat week with hia mother, Mrs. Robert Hollingsworth. He took her to Hilton Head and Charles ton, S.C. while here. * The Dan Yanceye?*of Raleigh were recent visitors of Mrs. Paul Stephens. Visitors in the home of the Gordon Kornegays last week were Louise Bullock of Mount Olvie, Pat Tarkington of Plymouth', Sue David Greenhill of Chatanooga, Tenn., Neil Bullock of Wash ington. D.C. and the Art Paschals of New Bern. Last Saturday Mrs. Kor negay accompanied her sis ter. Louise Bullock to Dur ham to attend the funeral of Mrs. Rose Greenhill. The Harold B. Wrights of Geveland, Ohio, and the Bobby Snyders of California have been visiting the W.E. Crafts and other relatives here. N.B. Boney Jr. of Char lotte spent Thursday night with his mother, Mrs. Nor wood B. Boney. "* Marie and Sy Teidlebaum of Decatur, Ga. and Mrs. Wilbur Adams of Carolina Beach spent the week with their sister, Miss Margaret Williams. Mrs. Ellis Vestal accom panied by Miss Annie Laurie Vestal have returned from Parsons, Kansas where they visited Mrs. Vestal's grand daughter. They also visited friends in Madison, Ohio and the Oliver Vestals in Staf ford, Va. Among those who at tended the Hisotrical Society luncheon meeting in Rose Hill on Saturday were Mes dames Carolyn Outlaw, Ruby Newton, Fannie McGowen and Louise W. Mitchell. Senior Citizens Club Meeting Attention, Senior Citizens. There will be a meeting of the members on Tuesday, July 19 at 10 a.m. at the Duplin County Senior Center on Seminary Street in Kenabnville. Bob Marker, county vocational rehabilita tion counselor, will discuss ways the service may benefit the older adult. All Senior Citizen clubs are encouraged to have representatives present from their clubs as well as all other interested senior citizens. Cornelia Best Women Day Speaker The women of St. James A.M.E. Church in Kenabs ville will be observing their annual Women's Day service on Sunday. July 17 at 11 a.m. the guest speaker will be Miss Cornelia Best, a retired Duplin County educator. Miss Best is a very active of the West Hill Baptist Church in Warsaw. She is also an active participant in the Senior Citizen activities.' She was previously awarded the Outstanding Citizen award by the Warsaw Chamber of Commerce and the Outstanding Senior Citizen award by the Warsaw Senior Citizens. The women of St. James A.M.E. Church invite all friends from area churches to hear this outstanding speaker.
