The Reverend James Creech of Warsaw and Reverend Elwin Melton of Grantham offi ciated the double-ring cere I mony. A program of wedding Bhusic was presented by Bonnie Harper, organist, and Rene Hood, soloist. Mrs. Hood sang "There is Love" and "The Wedding Prayer." Traditional wedding marches J were used. The full skirt of organza over taffeta ^^as attached to a chapel length train. Her headpiece was of sheer polyester with nylon veiling. The lace trim Z matched her bridal gown and was trimmed with simulated seed pearls. The bride car ried a petite nosegay of white * silk gardenias, roses, car nations and freezia inter ? Sperv-d with gypsophila and ^^pcented with long white r' rot-edged satin ribbons. Miss Donna Grady served her sister's maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. San dra Ryan, sister of the bride, Itfiss Kelly Smith and Mrs. Josef-Ann Wells, both of Warsaw and sisters of the groom, and Mrs. Rita Stuart and Mrs. Lynette Howell. A1 Smith served as his son's best man. Ushers were Scotty Smith of Warsaw, brother of the groom; Kenneth Grady of Mount Olive and Glenn Grady of Kenansville. brothers of the bride; j.W. Vinson of Faison and David Rouse of Ashe ville. Mrs. Erlene Bryan, cousin of the bride, directed the wedding. Miss Suzanne Weaver presided at the register. David and Andrew ?yan, nephews of the bride, distributed rice bags. The bride is a 1981 honor graduate of Southern Wayne Senior High School and a 1983 graduate of Wayne Community College, where she received an Associate of Applied Science degree in the executive secretary field and was a member of Phi *nieta Kappa, national honor fljpciety, The groom, a 1979 gradu ate of James Kenan High School, attended James Sprunt Technical College and U now serving in the U.S. Coast Guard, stationed at Cape May, N.J. ^After a wedding trip to Charleston, S.C., the couple will reside in North Cape May. N.J. ? 1 Reception Immediately following the ceremony, the bride's parents entertained at a reception in the fellowship hall. Guests were greeted by Mr. and Mrs. James L. Sasser. After the bride and groom cut the first slice of the wedding cake, aunts of the bride completed the ser ving. Refreshments included punch, nutty fingers, cheese stars, nuts and chicken salad sandwiches. After-Rehearsal Party Mr. and Mrs. A1 Smith, parents of the groom, enter tained the wedding party and relatives and friends at a party at their home in Warsaw, where they danced to beach music after the rehearsal. The couple chose this time to present gifts to their attendants, Showers A floating miscellaneous shower was held for the bride on June 4 at Falling Creek Baptist Church. The ladies of the Pearl Parker Class were the hostesses. One June 11, aunts of the bride hosted a miscellaneous shower in the home of Mrs. Glennie Overman. Other hostesses were Mrs. Ruby Creech and Mrs. Annie Jackson. On June 23, friends of the bride gave a lingerie shower in the home of Mrs. Lynette Howell. Other hostesses were Mrs. Rita Stuart and Miss Mollie Graham. On June 29, friends of the groom hosted a miscel laneous floating shower in the Fireside Room of the Warsaw United Methodist Church. Rev. and Mrs. Garland Foushee spent the weekend in Sanford with his mother. Mr. and Mrs. William Edward Brown and Jessica of Greenville visited Mr. and Mrs. J. Macon Brown and Mrs. P.E. Thigpen over the weekend. Mrs. Howard Cottle is a surgical patient in Lenoir Memorial in Kinston. Betty Bostic is also in Lettoir Memorial. Cicero Lanier is a patient in Onslow Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville. Hope Whaley is a patient in Pitt Memorial in Green ville where tests are being run. Brinson of Route 1, Beula .ville. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Futral of Route 1, Pink Hifl. A program" of prenuptial music was rendered by Ciarla Casteen, pianist. Doris Sand lin, cousin of the bride, sang "The Wedding Song" and "The Wedding Prayer." The bride was escorted to the altar by her father and given in marriage bv her parents. She wore a floor length gown of white qiana featuring a high neckline. The flowing skirt was tiered with ruffles. The waist was accented with a sash of white satin. A finger-tip two tiered veil fell from a crown of white silk flowers. She carried a cascade bouquet of white, yellow and blue silk flowers. Marsha Hatcher of Raleigh was matron of honor. Brides maids were ;Myra Langdon and Melita Butler, both of Raleigh. They wore floor length gowns of blue poly ester. They carried nosegays of white, yellow and blue silk flowers. Lesley Hatcher was the flowergirl. She wore a floor-length gown of white trimmed in blue and carried a basket of white, yellow and blue silk flowers. The bridegroom wore a dark gray tuxedo with a yellow carnation bouton niere. His father served as best man. Ushers were Jimmy Brinson, brother of the bride, Donny Langdon and Terry Hatcher of Ra leigh. The best man and ushers wore attire similar to the groom's. The mother of the bride wore a gown of mauve poly ester. The mother of the groom wore an aqua gown. They wore corsages of white carnations. The wedding was directed by Angie Miller of Beula ville. Martha Parker, cousin of the bride, attended the register. Reception Following the ceremony, a reception was hosted by the bride's parents, Pat Riley, friend of the bride, served the three-tiered wedding cake. Sue Lanier, also a friend of the bride, poured punch from a silver punch bowl. Other refreshments consisted of miniature ham biscuits, nuts, pennies from heaven and mints. Rehearsal Dinner A rehearsal dinner was given by the bridegroom's family immediately after the rehearsal on Friday night. The bride and groom chose this time to present gifts to their attendants. Prenuptial Showers A floating miscellaneous shower was given in honor of the couple at the home of the bride's parents on June 18. The couple received many nice and useful gifts. The bride-elect was honored with a lingerie shower at the home of Doris Sandlin of Beulaville on July 17. She received many pretty and useful gifts.
