Exchange Vows

Albertson and Daniel DuVal
Hoover of Kinston were
united in marriage on Sun
day, August 14 at three
o'clock in Harper-Souther
land Presbyterian Church.
The Reverend James W.
Brown of Jacksonville offi
ciated at the double-ring
ceremony.
The bride, who was given
in marriage by her parents,
is the daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Russell Ray Beyer of
Albertson. The bridegroom
is the son of Mr. and Mrs.
James Monroe Hoover of
Kinston.
For her wedding, the bride
wore a gown of chiffonnette
fashioned with a Victorian
bodice and a high collar
trimmed with venise lace.
The bishop sleeves had wide
duffs of matching lace. A
band of shirred ruffles and
lace accented the front skirt
wit!) a wide sweep of ruffling
and lace on the chapel train.
A fingertip veil bordered
with lace was attached to a
Juliet capulet. The bride
carried a silk bouquet of
white daisies, yellow roses,
lily-of-the-valley interposed
with greenery, babies'
breath and showered with
yellow and white bridal rib
bons.
Donna Moody of Fayette
ville, cousin of the bride, was
maid of honor.
The father of the groom,
James Monroe Hoover,
served as his son's best man.
Paula Beyer, sister of the
bride, was flowergirl. James
Taylor served as ringbearer.
Ushers were Richard
Beyer of Albertson, brother
of the bride, and Donald
Joynerof Kinston.
Nuptial music was pre
sented by John W. Boyette '
Jr. of Warsaw. Directing the
wedding was Mrs. Randi S.
Taylor of Deep Run. Ms.
Karen Harper of Kinston
presided at the register.
The bride is a 1982 gradu
ate of East Duplin High
School and is now attending
Lenoir Community College.
She is employed at Guilford
East of Kenansville.
The bridegroom is a 1982
graduate of Kinston High
School and is now attending
Lenoir Community College.
He is employed at Wall Lenk
Corporation of Kinston as a
maintenance mechanic.
After the wedding, a
reception was held in the
fellowship hall of the church.
A three-tier cakt >vas served
by Ada Moody and Margaret
Harper, aunts of the bride.
The punch was served by
Martha Loftia and Verna
Harper, friend and cousin of
the bride respectively. Nuts
and mints were also served.
After the reception, a
dinner for relatives was
served at the home of the
bride. The dinner consisted
of a roast beef and ham
platter, sausage meatballs,
chicken livers wrapped in
bacon, smoked sausage in
spicy mustard blankets,
assorted homemade breads,
assorted cheeses, fresh vege
table platter, a strawberry
tree garnished with assorted
melon boats, carved water
melon basket filled with
assorted melons and fresh
fruits, punch, mints and
nuts. The dinner was pre
pared by Stan and Barb
Linder of Atlanta, Ga., uncle
and aunt of the bride.
After a wedding trip to
Busch Gardens in Williams
burg, Va., the couple will
reside at 108 Kennedy Ave.
in Kinston.
On July 9, a shower was
held at Harper-Southerland
Presbyterian Church fellow
ship hall given by Ada and
Donna Moody, aunt and
cousin of the bride respec
tively.
On July 31, a shower was
held at the home of Mrs.
Shirley Hoover, mother of
fhe groom, given by Rose
Skinner and Lynn S. Race,
aunt and cousin of the
groom respectively.
On August 6, a shower and
party were held at Guilford
East given by the second
shift knitting department
employees.
On August 13, a rehearsal
dinner was held at B&S Cafe
in Deep Run given by
Monroe and Shirley Hoover,
parents of the groom. A
rehearsal followed the dinner
at the church.

Citizens Bank in Pink Hill
has been recognized for her
service to the bank and its
customers.
She received a five-year
pin.

Exchange Vows
Christi Dawn Lee of Deep
Run and Grayham Casie
Keesler of Pink Hill were
united in marriage Sunday,
September 4th, at six oclock.
At the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Cagie Houston, the
bride was given in marriage
by her step father, John I.
Miller. She is the daughter of
Virginia L. Miller and the
' late Richard A. Lee.
The groom is the son of

Wilbur W. Keesler Jr.
Mrs. Danielle Swiencki of
Griffton was the matron of
honor. Charlie Swienchi of
Hampton. Va. was best man.
The bride is a student at
South Lenoir High School.
The groom is a member of
the United States Navy and
stationed out of Norfolk, Va.
A small reception followed
the ceremony in the home of
Cagie Houston.
