Forrest - Miller Wedding Bridget Lynn Miller and Thomas Lawrence Forrest exchanged their wedding vows in a Saturday afternoon candlelight ceremony at three o'clock in the Hallsville Presbyterian Church, Beula ville. The Reverend Matt Highfield. pastor of the bride, and the Reverend Frank Flowers, pastor of the groom, officiated at the double-ring ceremony. Bridget is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Britt Miller of Bculaville. Thomas is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas "Tommy" Forrest and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Tripp and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Thomas Forrest, all of Ayden. 1 Upon entering the church, Faye Tripp, aunt of the groom, greeted the guests and presented them with a program of the ceremony The register table was draped with a white satin cloth covered with lace. It was adorned with a lavender flower arrangement accom panied with a candle, a second bridal bouquet, rice bags and the guest book. The church was decorated with a cathedral candelabrum ac cented with lavender tapers and flowers, accompanied with two spiral candelabrum, a double kneeling bench and ferns. The pews were marked with lavender mums. Escorted to the altar by her father, the bride wore a white formal-length gown of sheer organza and Alencon lace. It was designed with an empire waist with matching lace band, medallion lace front bodice, see-thru neckline with lace medallion center design and ring collar accented with scattered seed pearls, straight sheer sleeves decorated with Alencon lace and lace cuffs with scalloped edges and seed pearls. A full A-line skirt of organza was bordered with double tiers of wide lace which flowed softly into a chapel-length (rain. The bridal headpiece was a lace covered portrait hat accented with a brim border of seed pearls and soft lace scalloped edge. Soft gathered nylon illusion r'ortned the band with back satin rose center from which were attached double tiers of nvlon illusion. She carried a uosegay of white roses ac cented with lavender roses. Paula Thigpen and Frannie Jo Blizzard were honorary bridesmaids. The maid of honor was Belinda Miller, sister of the bride. She wore a formal-length gown of lavender crepe. Benita M. Campbell, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaid was Patty Brown. The flower girl was Leeann Rollins of Cary, cousin of the bride. They wore formal length gowns of lavender taffeta and each carried a basket of assorted lavender flowers. The father of the groom served as best man. The groomsmen were Greg Tripp, uncle of the groom: Gordon Campbell, brother in-law of the bride; and David Forrest, brother of the groom. Ringbearer was Clark Duff, cousin of the bride. They wore black tuxedoes with lavender cummerbunds and bow-ties. They wore lavender rose boutonnieres and the groom chose to wear his Army uniform. Edgar J. Wells provided both traditional and contem , porary music. Sherry Forrest, sister of the groom, sang "Two Less Lonely People in the World" and "The Wedding Prayer." The wedding was directed oy Mrs. Lillian H. Grady of Kenansville. For her daughter's wed ding, Mrs. Miller chose a formal-length gown of light grey. The groom's mother chose a formal-length bur gundy gown. Both wore a purple orchid corsage. Reception On Friday, Nov. 11, at eight-thirty in the evening, following the wedding re hearsal. Bridget and Thomas were honored with a recep tion given by their families at the Hallsville Presbyterian Church fellowship hall. The guests were greeted by Tammy Brown. After the bridcl-couple-elect cut their three-tiered cake and made their toasts, Janette Duff, great aunt of the bride, served the wedding cake and Pearl James served punch. Janice and Leland Sanderson were in charge of main taining the table with deli cacies and they were assisted by Rosie Rhodes, Bruce Schooler. Gilda Schooler, Patty Brown, Belinda Miller and Lillie Kelly. Shower The bride was honored with a lingerie shower given by her sisters on Sept. 30 at the home of her parents. Light refreshments were served. After returning from a honeymoon at Atlantic Beach, the bride and groom will be honored with mis cellaneous showers in each of their communities. They led the group in an old-timey gospel sing. After the pro gram, the refreshments committee, composed of Sally Tyndall, Wilma Pate and Nannie Brinson, served cheese wafers, sausage balls, cookies and punch. Eastern Star The bi-monthly meeting of Kenansville Chapter #215, OES, was held Tuesday night . Joyce Williams served as worthy matron and Kermit Williams as worthy patron in the absence of those two officers. After the ritualistic opening and flag ceremony, a short business session was held. This was followed by a Thanksgiving program pre sented by Louise K. Boney and Celia Stroud. A social hour followed during which time Celia Stroud and her husband, J.B., served cake and punch. Members were reminded that the next meeting on Dec. 13 will the the Christmas program.
