Hospital Auxiliary Plans Spring Card Tournament
The warm spring day on Wed
nesday. Feb. 16, insoired the Duplin
General Hospital Auxiliary members
to get busy with their plans for the
Spring Card Tournament.
Friday, March 16th at 7:30 p.m., is
set for the occasion. Cards of any
ty^e -r- bridge, canasta, old maid or
hearts, or what-have-you, may be
played. Get up your table, bring your
cards, and spend a pleasant evening.
Refreshments will be served and
prizes awarded. Tickets are $2.50
per person, with proceeds going to
buy equipment for the hospital.
Other activities at the meeting
were discussed on how members
could be of more service to visitors
coming to the hospital. One of the
problems which has arisen is visiting
in the Intensive Care Unit. Not many
seats are available in the Unit;
therefore a large group Causes much
disturbance. Volunteer workers at
the desk will work with visitors and
help them to see members of the
families.
Also, the public should not plao to
come visit and leave small children
unattended in the waiting rooms. No
children under 14 shall so to the
second floor waiting room. This is for
the safety and well-being of both the
child and patients.
President Carolyn Hall stated that
the Auxiliary has 41 paid members.
Mrs. Overman reported that Duplin
General Hospital Foundation ha?
prepared slides of the hospital work,
which are ready for use throughout ,
the county by clubs who would like to I
show them. Interested clubs may get
in touch with Mrs. Hubert Phillips of
Kenansville or Mrs. Thell Overman
of Wallace.
