Duplin Families Win Awards For Production Of Turkeys | Duplin families were presented awards in all categories of turkey toms production at the Neuse Area Development Association annual awards banquet in Kinston Feb. 15. County producers received nine of the ? 15 poultry awards presented at the banquet. Duplin Families Win Awards For Poultry Production Duplin families received awards in the production ot breeder hens and turkey hens at the annual Neuse Area A Development Association recognition banquet held ^ Feb. 15 in Kinston. Pictured, left to right above, Mr. and Mrs. O.R. Blizzard Jr. of Kenansville, who received the third place trophy in the production of turkey hens; Mr. and Mrs. Jerry R. Atkinson of Kenansvillc were awarded second place in the turkey hen category; and Avery Jarman of Mount Olive and Carolyn Hill accepted the second place trophy for breeder hen production. Carter of Beulaville. i NCSU Band To * Perform In Kenansville With spring comes the annual tour of the state by the N.C. State University Band. This year's tour brings the band to Kenansville to 9 perform for all in this area. The concert is free and will start at 3 p.m. in the Kenan Memorial Auditorium on Sunday. Feb. 26. The concert will last about one hour and will yield an exciting mixture of music from Gustav Hoist to George Gershwin, and promises to be a very enjoyable Sunday afternoon family outing. The Symphonic Band, which will perform, is a collection of the 70 best wind and percussion instrumen W taiists in the NCSU marching band. This year's tour, which takes the bind to the eastern North Carolina, will take the band to New Bern for an ;vCjiing performance on Sunday and li -Goldsboro High School for a Monday performance at 10 a.m. The NCSU Alumni Association tad the music department at State tave cooperated to sponsor the land's spring tour.
