Chestnutt - Kornegay Wed On Sunday, April 1st, at three o'clock in the afternoon, Elizabeth Christine Kornegay and Stephen Dale Chestnutt were united in mar riage. The double-ring ceremony was performed by Rev. A.R. Teachey at the Magnolia Baptist Church. The bride is the daughter of the late Larry S. Kornegay of Kenans ville. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John E. Chestnutt of Warsaw. A program of special .music was performed by Jeanette Smith. Soloist Rita Brown sang "The Wedding Song," "Truly" and "The Wedding Prayer." The bride, given in marriage by her brother, Larry S. Kornegay Jr., wore a formal gown of sheer white polyester with sequins and bow trim. It featured a modified Queen Anne neckline. The all-over lace bodice with a slightly raised waistline was accented with pearls and bishop sleeves with lace inset and deep lace cuffs. The full skirt with lace motits was edged with baby ruffled hem extending to form a chapel-length train. The fingertip veil of ChantUly lace featured an attached blusher flowing from a bandeau cap of lace trimmed wi wedding pearls and a satin ribbon bow on the side. She carried a bouquet of lavender and white daisies and pink carnations. Miss Tracy Everett of Kenansville served as maid of honor. Brides maids included Brenda Chestnutt of Warsaw, sister of the groom, and Gail Whaley of Warsaw, sister of the groom. Each attendent wore a formal lavender sheer polyester gown fashioned with a ruffled neckline, a slightly raised waistline with a full bustle-effect skirt and satin ribbon trim. They carried nosegays similar to the bride's bouquet. The flowereirl. Melissa Sue Whaley, daughter of Ms. Gail Whaley, wore a formal white eyelet trimmed dress with a lavender ribbon at the waist. She carried a wicker basket of flowers. 4 The ringbearer, Michael Page, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph .Page of Warsaw, wore a arev tuxedo with a tucked shirt and bow tie. The father of the groom served as best man. Groomsmen included James E. Chestnutt of Burgaw, brother of the groom, and Glenn Chestnutt of Warsaw, brother of the groom. They were attired in grey tuxedoes, white tucked shirts and bow ties. The groom chose a tuxedo like that of the groomsmen. They each wore a pink carnation bouton niere. The honorary mother of the bride chose a street-length dress of blue polyester with a chiffon bodice, asymmetrically tiered front, slightly raised waistline and full skirt. The groom's mother chose a street length dress of blue polyester with a bodice trimmed in lace and a full skirt. Both mothers wore corsages of pink carnations and white daisies with matching ribbons. Alda Ezzell, grandmother of the bride, and Anne Rogers, grandmother of the groom, were remembered with corsages. The couple spoke their nuptial vows before the church altar ac cented with an archway of candles with a floral arrangement and two spiral candelabrums holding tall lighted tapers, and green fern. They knelt together on a kneeling bench while "The Wedding Prayer" was sung. The bride is a graduate of James Kenan High School and is presently attending James Sprunt Technical College in the associate degree nursing program. The groom is a graduate of James Kenan High School and is presently the manager of Jackson's IGA in Beulaville. They will make their home on Route 1, Warsaw. Reception A reception was hosteu by Mrs. Jeanne Everett and Mrs. Sara Kor negay in the fellowship hall of the church on Saturday following the rehearsal. A long table was beauti fully trimmed with a white floor length tablecloth and a pink lining. Sausage balls, homemade mints, peanuts, wedding cake and punch were served. Other Courtesies A bridal shower was held March 10th in the fellowship hall of the Magnolia Baptist Church. The couple received manv beautiful and useful gifts. Guests were served cake squares, mints, peanuts and punch. Hostesses were Gail Whaley, Myrtle Chestnutt, Betsy Chestnutt and Patsy Chestnutt. The bride-elect and the mother of the groom-to-be were remembered with corsages upon, arrival. I Engagement Announced Terrie Elaine Albertson is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arliss Albertson of Beulaville, who announce her engagement to Paul Milton Livingston, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Livingston of Raeford. The wedding will take place April 21st at three o'clock at the First Presbyterian Church in Greenville. To Pledge Vows Mr. and Mrs. James M. English of Warsaw are oroud to announce the engagement of their daughter, Treva Marie, to Stephen M. Williamson, Jr., sou of Judge and Mrs. Stephen M. Williamson Sr. of Kenatisville.
