Fund Drive Contributors Are Matchmakers "The First contributors to the Duplin County Arts Council Fund Drive have been an answer to a challenge to us," reports Merle Creerh. executive director of DCAC, "and most of them didn't even know they were helping so greatly. We appreciate the help and support ? and now the Foundation which challenged us can respond and help our programming budget for next vear climb." The Duplin County Arts Council is a non-profit agency which is managed by an executive director who is a county employee. Con tributions collected during the annual fund drive, therefore, are used directly for programming in schools, for clubs, for all kinds of groups of people throughout Duplin County. The challenge of which Creech spoke was proposed by a prival foundation recently for a $1,500 contribution once the same amount had been raised locally. The goal of this vear's drive is $12,000.
